About the Role
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of MSO Operations leads the development and coordination of all Jasper MSO operations. The incumbent develops and enforces operating protocols and standards, ensuring an effective and scalable cancer support and navigation services. The Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership, directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional level employees who participate in the operations of the Jasper Health services. The incumbent may serve as manager for up to 5 direct reports.
Role and Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Medical Officer in the development, growth, and sustainability of the Jasper Health Cancer Support and Navigation Program.
- Leads selection, implementation, management, maintenance and integration of revenue cycle management solutions, patient services including but not limited to pre-registration, registration, scheduling, co-insurance processing, provider onboarding, EHR support of documentation, coding, billing, and reporting, payer contracting, payer credentialing, patient account services, compliance and regulatory support.
- Provides planning, direction, leadership and advanced expertise in the operation of complex EMR and Telehealth services.
- Working closely with the Chief Product Officer, and clinical team throughout Jasper Health, fosters and supports the creation of new programs and products within the cancer support and navigation space.
- Serves as Jasper Health’s primary point of contact for operational enablement of clinical projects, manages workforce planning needs to keep pace with a rapidly expanding program.
- Lead the development of key metrics to track and report clinical, operational, and financial outcomes
- Excellent communicator, able to work in a start-up environment communicating with senior leaders from operations, finance, IS, HR, to front line staff.
- Develops a working knowledge of regional and national healthcare providers and organizations.
- Maintains professional affiliations and is expected to pursue independent study as well as formalized training to enhance professional growth and development to keep current on cancer support and navigation industry trends and legislation. Regional and national travel may be required infrequently.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent experience in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related healthcare field is required.
- Preferred Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.
- At least 7 years of professional experience with telehealth, or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the healthcare industry.
- Experience with the development and support of telemedicine programs.
- Demonstrated success in progressive supervisory or managerial positions is preferred.
- Healthcare related clinical experience.
- Experience working in an ambulatory care setting.
- EMR experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Previous experience with telehealth is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in business or healthcare management and operations.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize negotiation techniques and practices in order to effectively advocate for the interests of Jasper Health.
- Previous experience with cancer care management environments, operations, language and economics.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of independence, initiative, judgment, discretion. and decision-making to achieve program objectives.
- Ability to work in a start-up environment and ensure consistent quality delivery of services and maintain a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational, planning, controlling, scheduling and project management abilities in a complex healthcare environment.
- Effective managerial and administrative abilities as applied to the management of a Telehealth program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop collaborative alliances throughout Jasper Health and outside healthcare organizations.
- Ability to affect collaborative alliances and promote teamwork.
