InStride Health is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial activities, developing internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. You will work closely with the VP of Finance to drive financial efficiency and support the growth of our organization.

InStride Health is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial activities, developing internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. You will work closely with the VP of Finance to drive financial efficiency and support the growth of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Build and oversee a high functioning accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Support the annual budgeting process, including the development of financial forecasts and long-term financial plans. Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheet, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
- Oversee the annual audit procedures, partnering with external auditors to prepare audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries. Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to financial reporting and tax filings. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations that may impact the organization.Oversee the preparation of tax returns.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement new technologies and best practices to support the organization's growth.
- Manage an effective treasury function to maximize cash efficiency. Manage the company's cash flow, including cash forecasting, liquidity management, and investment strategies. Ensure adequate cash reserves to meet operational and strategic needs.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's mission and goals. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational excellence.
- 5+ years finance controller experience
- An understanding of healthcare services revenue or experience in the healthcare industry (value-based care is a plus)
- Experience with managing annual financial audits in partnership with accounting firms
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP Implementations and payroll matters
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced environment; ability to be flexible
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust
- Ability to prepare and maintain a distraction-reduced home working environment with an internet connection capable of maintaining clear and consistent audio/video communications
