About the Role

We're seeking an IT Operations Generalist who will primarily handle in-office IT tasks related to IT Support, AV Support and IT Logistics. This multifaceted role delivers essential technical and logistical support across our environment, working closely with various IT teams to ensure seamless technology operations for all Instacart employees.

Location: San Francisco (Onsite)
Rate of Pay: $95,000 - $110,000

About the Team

The Instacart IT Department supports all of Instacart with equipment, infrastructure, and technical assistance. Our IT Operations team ensures the support experience is at the highest level—from logistics and inventory management to direct end-user support and AV services.

About the Role

  • Process and manage equipment in our asset management software and ticketing system
  • Handle shipping, tracking, and returns of IT equipment across multiple locations
  • Maintain and organize accurate inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate with teams inside and outside IT to ensure timely delivery of equipment
  • Provide first-level technical support for Instacart employees in-office
  • Troubleshoot issues across macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS environments
  • Manage in office equipment such as monitors, conference room technologies
  • Support key software platforms including Gmail, Slack, Okta, and Zoom
  • Assist with maintaining knowledge base documentation
  • Assist with conference room first-level troubleshooting and support

About You

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years combined experience in IT logistics, support,, and/or asset management
  • Inventory management
  • Working knowledge of Mac, Windows, and Chrome operating systems
  • Ability to occasionally lift 40 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter who proactively researches solutions before escalating
  • Excellent customer service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jira and Oomnitza or similar systems
  • Understanding of basic AV systems including Zoom and Google Hangouts
  • Friendly personality with strong teaching/training abilities
  • Excellent communication skills across different personality types
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Experience in inventory management and shipping logistics
