We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial Food Delivery Director to build and scale our food delivery vertical from scratch, starting with one market and expanding internationally.
This role will be responsible for launching the business end-to-end — from defining the strategy and building the initial operations to achieving product-market fit and scaling across multiple countries.
The ideal candidate combines strong ownership mindset, marketplace expertise, and hands-on execution, with experience in launching and scaling new business lines in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Build the Vertical from Scratch
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the initial launch country
- Build the food delivery business from the ground up, including: value proposition for customers, couriers, and restaurants, operating model and processes, supply and demand strategy (set strategic plan for the next 5 years)
- Identify and validate product-market fit
2. Launch & Initial Market Execution
- Lead the successful launch in the first market
- Establish core marketplace dynamics (supply, demand, liquidity)
- Set up local operations, partnerships, and growth channels
- Rapidly iterate based on market feedback and performance data
3. Scaling & International Expansion
- Develop and execute a scalable playbook for expansion into new markets
- Adapt the model to different geographies while maintaining core efficiency
- Lead market prioritization and expansion strategy
- Ensure consistent performance across markets
4. Business Ownership & P&L
- Own the end-to-end P&L of the food delivery vertical
- Drive sustainable growth and profitability
- Define pricing, incentives, and unit economics
- Manage budgets and resource allocation
- Business model validation
5. Marketplace & Operations
- Build and optimize marketplace balance: restaurant supply, courier availability & reliability, customer demand
- Ensure strong operational KPIs: delivery time, order success rate, cost per order, NPS
- Create scalable and efficient operational processes
6. Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product and Tech teams to: build core delivery features, improve user experience, launch growth and retention tools
- Define product requirements based on market needs
- Drive experimentation and continuous improvement
7. Partnerships & Ecosystem
- Build and scale restaurant partnerships, including key chains
- Develop strategic partnerships to accelerate growth
- Leverage synergies with other company verticals (ride-hailing, fintech, advertising, etc.)
8. Team Building
- Build and lead a high-performing team from the ground up
- Hire key roles across operations, partnerships, and growth
- Establish a strong culture of ownership, speed, and accountability.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 8–12+ years of experience in food delivery, marketplaces, or on-demand businesses
- Proven experience in launching new products, markets, or business lines from scratch
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach
- Experience owning a P&L and scaling operations
- Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics
- Experience working in international environments
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Experience in ride-hailing or multi-vertical platforms
- Experience launching in emerging markets
- Background in high-growth startups or consulting
- Willing to travel extensively
