Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day general ledger operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close across multiple entities.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and related close activities under US GAAP.
- Maintain strong process controls, documentation, and compliance with accounting policies, SOX requirements, and audit expectations.
- Standardize and improve GL processes, identify gaps, and support automation and system enhancements (primarily in NetSuite).
- Review variance analyses, challenge unusual movements, and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Coordinate closely with AP, FP&A, Payroll, Tax, Treasury, and regional finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Act as the primary escalation point for GL issues and ensure timely resolution of operational bottlenecks.
- Manage, coach, and develop the GL team, including workload planning, performance reviews, and cross-training.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and capability building within the Shared Services GL team.
- Prepare and support audit deliverables and ensure timely closure of open items.
- Assist the Accounting Director with reporting, close metrics, new initiatives, and scaling Shared Services operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Chartered Accountant.
- 7–9 years of progressive experience in accounting or shared services, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and end-to-end month-end close processes.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite (preferred) or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and Tableau skills.
- Ability to critically review work, identify inaccuracies, and challenge incomplete explanations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to perform under pressure during fast close cycles.
Preferred:
- Experience in a global shared services environment.
- Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
- Experience supporting US-based or international audit cycles.
- Big 4 experience of 2-3 years
