The legal business partners team oversees and manages different legal topics worldwide arising from the day to day operations of inDrive. In doing so, the team drives innovative solutions in close coordination with many internal stakeholders, especially government relations (GR), finance, tax, marketing, the business development teams and local outside counsel. Sustainable business growth and evaluating and managing key business risks are the main priorities for the legal business partners team.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for dedicated country (Brazil);
  • Be responsible for Delivery Hub (inDrive Delivery, Cargo, Couriers) + partially for Ride hailing;
  • Serve as a front-line counsel, identifying and resolving issues impacting local business operations;
  • Legal support for developing legal strategies for the day to day operations of Delivery Hub in Brazil;
  • Provide legal advice on different matters such as civil law, media/marketing/advertising regulation, consumer regulation, digital law, contracts/commercial law, fintech, digital employment/labor regulation, digital platforms regulation, dispute resolution/Claims, tax etc.;
  • Monitor and draft analysis of upcoming regulations;
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other departments to provide comprehensive advice and create solutions;
  • Provide legal review and legal support to all the marketing/media/advertising campaigns launching in Brazil;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations applicable to operations of the Company in Brazil, and develop effective measures for internal and external compliance;
  • Drafting policies and guidelines;
  • Drafting, reviews and negotiations of various types of contracts supporting Delivery Hub;
  • Manage different types of government authorities requests;
  • Manage external vendors. Oversee all aspects of third party vendor management in the Brazil, including execution and implementation of outside counsel guidelines, performance, and timely collection and processing of accruals, and invoices;
  • Take initiative to develop relevant precedents, templates, guidance notes and other knowhow;
  • Sole contributor role (no subordinates);
  • Reporting directly to Country Legal Counsel.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as in-house legal counsel for technology companies, or law firms providing support for technology companies;
  • 4 to 5+ years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years of law firm experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, additional education would be a plus;
  • English language proficiency at C1/C2 level (IELTS academic 6,5-9) + local language;
  • Strong experience in civil law, media/marketing/advertising regulation, consumer protection regulation, pre-litigation: claims resolution, commercial law/contracts.As an additional plus will be experience in data protection, intellectual property, fintech, tax matters;
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in an exciting, fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others;
  • Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action, go-getter mentality;
  • Great communication skills; Understanding of key business metrics.
