Now we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Pakistan. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Financial Reporting & Accounting and cooperating closely with the Reporting, Budgeting and Control, Global Accounting, and Treasury teams, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of Finance operations in inDrive.
Responsibilities
Reporting
- Prepare and finalize month-end financial statements for management reporting purposes, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and take an active role in forecasting future financial performance
- Control and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Coordinate and supervise accounting services providers, including ensuring accuracy and completeness of bookkeeping and financial reporting, preparation of statutory financial statements, preparation of group reporting
- Ensure that financial statements are prepared in compliance with legal and group requirements and are submitted to state authorities within the deadlines
Budgeting and Control
- Coordinate, support, and manage budget preparation and financial forecasts
- Perform budget and financial control, prepare management reports and budget vs. actuals analysis
- Support management accounting and reporting automation and appropriate workflow changes
- Support business activities such as marketing campaigns, legal procedures, new product launches, etc. from a financial perspective
- Provide local financial, tax, accounting, and reporting expertise for decision-making
Audit
- End-to-end coordination with the statutory auditor and resolving the audit queries to ensure smooth closure of financial statements
- Supervise the audit process
External and internal communication & coordination
- Coordinate and supervise all contracts from the tax and regulatory perspective, interact with counterparties for receipt of the necessary documents (signed contracts, invoices, etc)
- Work within the general framework of the company's overall accounting and reporting system and make sure that all relevant information is available for the management’s use in running the business
- Provide assistance to Finance and Legal departments with the collection and preparation of all the documents needed
- Recommend changes in policies or procedures that will improve financial and tax performance as well as accuracy and timeliness of accounts preparation
- Cooperate with the HR department and cross-check payroll-related expenses monthly.
- Collect information regarding alternative service providers (rental, advertising, insurance, outsourcing, etc).
- Potentially be involved with mergers and acquisitions, which requires an understanding of complex accounting issues such as purchase price allocations
- Assistance in the implementation of the group's ERP system
- Regular review of the Company’s obligatory payments to state bodies
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience
- English speaker, advanced level as a must (communication daily)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance is required
- Deep understanding and strong technical skills in accounting and finance: general ledger; accounts payable; payroll; cash flow; cost/benefit analysis; revenue management; operating budget and reporting and forecasting
- Expertise in GAAP/IFRS and Financial Reporting
- CPA, and ACCA Qualifications would be an advantage
- Experience in working in international companies
- Experience in cooperation with state authorities
- Exceptional focus on compliance with all regulatory requirements and company’s policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data
