About the job

We are seeking an ISR Cell Operator to support Japan-focused operations by coordinating satellite tasking, monitoring incoming SAR data, and delivering timely intelligence to customers and internal stakeholders. This role sits at the intersection of operations, analysis, and customer engagement, ensuring that ICEYE’s capabilities are effectively leveraged to meet mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Mission Coordination & Tasking

◦ Manage and prioritize satellite tasking requests for Japan and surrounding regions

◦ Coordinate with internal mission planning teams to optimize collection schedules

◦ Ensure timely execution of customer requirements

Real-Time Monitoring & Operations

◦ Monitor ISR workflows and data acquisition in near real-time

◦ Track satellite passes, collection status, and delivery timelines

◦ Respond to time-sensitive or high-priority tasking requests

Data Interpretation & Reporting

◦ Review SAR imagery and derived products to identify relevant changes or events

◦ Generate concise, actionable reports for customers

◦ Support rapid dissemination of insights during critical situations (e.g., disasters, security events)

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

◦ Act as a point of contact for Japan-based customers

◦ Translate operational needs into actionable tasking plans

◦ Provide updates on mission status and product delivery

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

◦ Maintain situational awareness of regional events impacting ISR priorities

◦ Contribute to process improvements and operational best practices

◦ Support training and onboarding of new team members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, Defense Studies, Engineering, software or related field.

• Experience in ISR operations, geospatial analysis, satellite operations, or similar

environments.

• Familiarity with SAR imagery and/or remote sensing data (preferred)

• Engineering or software background.

• Military or law enforcement experience preferred.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operational environment

Native-level proficiency in Japanese with business-level fluency in English required.

• Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts if required

• Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance or an equivalent level of clearance.

Valid Japanese driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with government, defense, or security customers in Japan

• Knowledge of maritime domain awareness, disaster response, or border security operations

• Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS) or imagery analysis platforms

• Prior experience in a 24/7 operations or command center environment
