Why this role matters:

As a C++ Engineer for AOCS Software you will ensure our satellites point reliably and accurately to maximize customer value generated by the ICEYE fleet.

In this role you will develop real-time attitude control software that guarantees our satellites can take high-quality images whenever and wherever they are needed. Working closely with other engineering teams and satellite operators, you will participate in in-orbit agility and performance benchmarking of our current satellite fleet. You will also be part of designing software support for next generation satellites, and develop frameworks for automated telemetry data analytics.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Develop Software Features improving AOCS subsystem observability, supporting new satellite hardware generations, and scaling the ICEYE fleet

  • Automate satellite operations together with other software and hardware teams

  • Analyze Satellite Flight Telemetry to study past events and collect data to guide future performance improvements

  • Coordinate with satellite operators to execute in-orbit test activities

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Proven track record designing and deploying software for embedded systems

  • Experience on developing applications running on Linux

  • Strong coding and testing skills in C++ and Python

  • Curiosity to learn, and capability to systematically solve complex problems

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in controlling hardware sensors and actuators

  • Experience with scientific computing, data analysis tools

  • Experience in Linux kernel configuration and build

  • Understanding of real-time programming concepts

  • Understanding of control theory fundamentals

  • Familiar with using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle

  • Basic knowledge over Digital Signal Processing
