What you'll do
Support the formalisation of system and subsystem requirements, translating high‑level stakeholder objectives into clear, precise, verifiable, and traceable technical requirements.
Own defined system or subsystem requirement sets, ensuring scope, intent, and interfaces are unambiguous and well documented.
Apply process discipline to systems engineering, ensuring every feature is fully defined and traceable before detailed design begins.
Build and maintain requirements traceability, linking stakeholder needs, technical requirements, verification activities, and test evidence.
Own the verification process for assigned systems or subsystems, ensuring verification logic is defined early and remains aligned as designs evolve.
Develop and maintain design and systems engineering documentation, keeping the system definition consistent, current, and auditable.
Support Verification & Validation (V&V) planning, ensuring that appropriate test strategies exist for each requirement.
Work closely with Lead and Senior Systems Engineers, supporting system architecture decisions with structured requirements and documentation.
Apply recognised aerospace and defence systems engineering standards, ensuring consistency with regulated, safety‑critical environments.
Act as a quality gate for system definition, identifying gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies before they become downstream issues.
Who you are
An early‑career Systems Engineer with a strong interest in system definition, requirements, and engineering discipline.
Comfortable working with formal requirements, including writing, structuring, and maintaining technical requirement sets.
Familiar with requirements traceability, V&V concepts, and system lifecycle thinking, either through industry or academic experience.
Detail‑oriented and methodical, with a strong instinct for clarity, consistency, and completeness.
Able to work effectively in support of senior and lead engineers, contributing structured inputs rather than operating in isolation.
Comfortable producing and maintaining engineering documentation that others depend on to design and test systems.
Familiar with, or keen to learn, aerospace and defence engineering standards and regulated development environments.
Analytical and pragmatic, able to translate abstract stakeholder needs into concrete, testable statements.
Motivated by learning how complex, safety‑critical systems are defined, validated, and delivered.
Interested in growing into broader system architecture or technical leadership roles over time through strong fundamentals.
