Workforce Planning Analyst
HubSpot
HubSpot’s Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) team is looking for a Lead Analyst with advanced expertise in workforce planning, exceptional cross-functional influence, and a proven ability to drive high-stakes outcomes with limited supervision. This person will own and elevate the workforce planning operating model across the Flywheel pillar (Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing) while helping shape SWP capabilities across all pillars — Company (G&A), Flywheel, and Product.
As part of HubSpot’s center of excellence for workforce planning, the SWP team connects Talent Acquisition & Mobility (TAM), People Business Partners (PBPs), Finance (FP&A), Operations, and Chiefs of Staff to ensure workforce strategies align with business priorities and financial realities. Each analyst is embedded by pillar (Flywheel, Product, or Company - aka G&A functions) while operating within a unified framework focused on operational excellence, scenario-based forecasting, and strategic insight.
This role is designed for someone who has done this work at scale, operated within a mature workforce planning function, and can hit the ground running on Day 1 by leading complex, cross-functional workstreams and driving strategic decision-making.
As a core member of HubSpot’s SWP center of excellence, the Lead Analyst will not only model the craft but push it forward—taking responsibility for designing processes, solving systemic issues, and aligning senior stakeholders to a cohesive, enterprise-wide workforce strategy.
In this role, you’ll get to:
Drive Enterprise-Level Workforce Planning
Serve as the senior workforce planning partner for the Flywheel pillar while acting as a connector across Product and Company (where applicable). Ensure consistency, alignment, and integration of workforce strategies, translating cross-pillar dependencies into recommendations for senior leadership.
Lead High-Impact, Complex Planning Work with Limited Oversight
Own the end-to-end workforce planning rhythm for Flywheel, including hiring capacity, quarterly commits, long-range workforce scenarios, and strategic modeling tied to revenue and customer outcomes. Proactively identify risks, inflection points, and opportunities that influence business strategy—and shape decision-making at the VP and SVP level.
Design and Evolve Workforce Planning Systems & Processes
Lead the transformation of workforce planning from reactive to predictive by designing scalable processes, automation opportunities, and system improvements (e.g., partnering with Ops, Anaplan owners, and TAM). Identify systemic issues across multiple pillars (e.g., data gaps, inconsistent assumptions, forecasting challenges) and drive cross-functional solutions.
Influence Senior Stakeholders and Align Divergent Priorities
Independently guide senior leaders (TAM, FP&A, PBPs, Ops, Chiefs of Staff) toward unified assumptions and strategic workforce trade-offs.Facilitate complex, multi-stakeholder discussions where decisions have material financial, customer, or operational impact.
Communicate Strategic Insights with Executive-Level Clarity
Develop frameworks, narratives, and modeling outputs that simplify complexity and inform executive choices. Represent SWP in senior forums, advocating for data-driven talent strategies across the company.
Advance HubSpot’s Workforce Planning Maturity
Shape the long-term vision for SWP, including playbooks, operating models, data hygiene standards, and cross-functional engagement models. Mentor Senior Analysts and Analysts, raising the bar for analytical rigor, stakeholder influence, and strategic thinking across the team.
We’re looking for people who have:
- 8+ years of experience in workforce planning, FP&A, or business operations. You have demonstrated success operating in a scaled, global organization or a mature SWP function.
- Deep expertise in workforce modeling, forecasting, scenario planning, and translating analytics into strategic recommendations.
- Experience leading cross-functional planning at an enterprise level, ideally across multiple business units or pillars.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, driving alignment and decision-making with limited direction across cross-functional teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior cross-functional partners using data-driven storytelling.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to build complex, scalable models, data structures, and planning processes
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, identify systemic gaps, propose strategic solutions, and execute through others.
- Models adaptability and champions change across groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or within Flywheel (Go-to-Market) organizations and at least one additional business organization (ex: G&A or Product)
- Experience with Anaplan or similar planning tools is a plus.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect workforce trends to broader financial and operational outcomes.
