With top-line revenue growth and an increase in the absolute dollar value of expenditures expected for years to come, we are looking to hire a Senior Manager, Global Category Management to assist our new Procure to Pay (P2P) team in building out a global procurement strategy and function that will scale with the growth of the Company.
HubSpot has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Global Category Management to gain valuable knowledge in the Procurement field and to develop specific skills in a company ranked amongst the fastest growing in the world. This role will partner closely with our key internal stakeholders such as IT, Legal, Compliance, and Security teams as part of the vendor review process. The Senior Manager, Global Category Management will be responsible for tracking assigned contracts from submission to execution, and contract renewals. Additionally, leading a team of Category Managers across all categories, to ensure they are effectively and efficiently shepherding HubSpotters and vendors through the global P2P process. This role is expected to operate as a player-coach, balancing hands-on execution of strategic negotiations and complex vendor relationships with team leadership responsibilities, including coaching Category Managers through escalations, mentoring on best practices, and removing blockers to ensure timely deal completion.
Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Develop and execute comprehensive multi-year category strategies across all indirect spend categories (COGS, IT, Marketing, Events, Travel, Product, Engineering, G&A), driving measurable cost savings, innovation, and value creation while achieving quarterly savings targets and maintaining pipeline visibility for leadership
- Lead and develop a team of Category Managers through weekly 1:1s, coaching on negotiation strategy, prioritization, and stakeholder management while maintaining hands-on involvement in strategic negotiations and removing blockers to ensure timely deal completion
- Foster high-performing team culture by setting clear performance expectations, providing mentorship on best practices, and escalating risks to the Global Procurement Director as needed
- Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships across the entire lifecycle - from sourcing events and RFPs through performance management, QBRs (Tier 1 vendors), and continuous improvement programs, including joint innovation roadmaps and co-creation initiatives
- Lead supplier performance analytics and risk management, using data-driven insights to assess vendor health, facilitate corrective actions, and ensure third-party compliance with enterprise standards
- Own end-to-end contract lifecycle management using Ironclad, leading complex negotiations for MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, and professional services agreements while partnering with Legal, Security & Privacy, and Finance teams to ensure compliance and value optimization
- Establish and monitor comprehensive KPIs across all procurement functions (SLAs, cycle times, savings realization, vendor risk metrics, compliance rates) and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting through dashboards and executive presentations
- Drive P2P system adoption as subject matter expert for Coupa, ServiceNow, and Ironclad, partnering with IT to implement enhancements and ensure global process standardization
- Establish and enforce global procurement governance framework, ensuring compliance with internal policies, SOX requirements, regulatory standards, and risk management protocols across all indirect categories and regions
- Partner with P2P, Finance, Legal, IT, and business leaders as trusted advisor to influence sourcing decisions, vendor strategy, and investment trade-offs while delivering customer-centric procurement experience
- Ensure effective communication and alignment with global entities and vendors, managing regional requirements and local regulations within the global procurement strategy
We’re looking for people who have:
- A bachelor's degree in business, or another relevant field is required.
- 10+ years of people managerial experience, preferably in procurement.
- 15+ years of experience working within a procurement team, and relevant industry. expertise. Preferably with a multi-national high growth company with $3B+ of revenue
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing category management teams.
- Computer literate, experience with P2P systems (Coupa, NetSuite, etc), Docusign, Ironclad, ServiceNow with advanced MS Office and Google Suite knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills and background.
- Working knowledge of global currencies and global contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently. Team player and excellent customer service skills.
- Success influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
- Deep global experience across all areas of indirect procurement, managing complex, multi-category portfolios.
- Proven track record of driving measurable cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
Led global category strategies from development through execution. - Expertise negotiating complex commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, and professional services contracts.
Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
