HubSpot is looking for a Senior Manager of External Communications to help us build and scale our external communications globally. This individual will play a critical role in positioning HubSpot’s corporate narrative to support our mission to help millions of organizations grow better.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Develop and execute on HubSpot corporate narratives working collaboratively with our Brand and Corporate Comms. Specifically, this work entails critical work in partnership with our IR team on company announcements, external thought leadership on ESG, including sustainability and diversity, and positioning around company culture and our approach to hybrid work.
- Define our media relations strategy in partnership with our agency of record, telling the HubSpot corporate story, growing our share of voice in earned media and building brand awareness.
- Lead a growing team of communications professionals who oversee corporate PR, executive thought leadership, and issues management, collaborating heavily with regional PR teams.
- Spearhead crisis communications work as needed and lead the Issues Management process globally, working in partnership with our legal and security teams.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and communications thought partner to members of our executive leadership team, helping to inform large-scale communication.
- Serve as a coach and leader who will help grow team members deliver impact to HubSpot and achieve their career goals.
We are looking for people who:
- Have developed and executed on corporate communications in the technology space and have run global teams overseeing communications work.
- Can craft a strategy document but are also energized and excited about getting the details right.
- Have experience pitching and securing top tier media coverage and growing share of voice in earned media, including preparing senior executives for key opportunities.
- Experience partnering with key functions in the business to deliver on media strategy objectives.
- Take feedback well and operate with a bias for action.
- Have developed high performing teams.
- Are strong writers and communicators with a compelling presence and a track record for influencing the most senior leaders across an organization.
- Provide strong, thoughtful, and clear leadership in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment.
- Can clearly articulate how the global media landscape is evolving and adapt their approach and strategy to reflect those changes.
- Have helped mission-driven brands and companies tell their story in a compelling and human way at scale.
Cash compensation range: 130000-201000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
