Principal Software Engineer - Data Operations

Remote - USA

About the Group

The Operations Hub group aims to build an intelligent CRM platform that supercharges customer engagement and front office business processes through unified customer data. We worked on data management and intelligence solutions including workflow automation, reporting, data sync, data framework and operations, to help customers make value out of their data.

About the Role

We are looking for a principal engineer who has identified and delivered projects with meaningful business impact at the product line level. This candidate should have a clear history of solving hard, impactful problems with little guidance. They move across domains effortlessly, challenging conventions and what is possible by reexamining constraints. They are trusted with complex business and technical challenges that require collaboration, technical mastery, and technical leadership. They should have a significant impact on the success and technical strategy of any group they are a part of. Additionally, they are often asked to move into an unknown area and quickly make progress. They work in concert with leadership to identify and define large, impactful initiatives that they will drive.

Key Expectations:

  • A Principal Software Engineer is recognized throughout their product line as an engineering mentor and technology leader
  • Their ownership level spans their entire product line and they should be involved in thinking through challenges and opportunities across it
  • They remain hands-on, produce technology directly, and are able to dive deep into technical details
  • They may function as Tech Leads when necessary, leading a team or team(s)
  • They learn new domains quickly and innovate to solve hard problems across any domain or department
  • Their contributions redefine best practices for other technologists and increase the scale of engineers across the organization
  • They partner with product and engineering leadership to identify opportunities and help define product and technical strategy
  • They help assess the organization and give feedback to other engineers and leaders
  • They elevate HubSpot's external brand and recruiting efforts
