We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payments Fraud Risk Strategy Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing risk strategies to identify, prevent, and mitigate payments fraud and credit risks for HubSpot commerce. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our payment processes, ensuring the security of financial transactions, and minimizing potential losses due to fraudulent activities. You’ll bring your experience in payments fraud trends and risk management techniques and data orientation to solve complex problems.
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement comprehensive payments fraud risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization and our customers against fraudulent activities.
- Monitor and assess payments risk trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct regular risk assessments with internal teams and with 3rd parties to identify vulnerabilities and gaps in existing fraud prevention systems and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, security, underwriting, compliance, legal, Payops and finance, to design and implement fraud prevention controls and processes across payment channels.
- Utilize advanced analytics and data-driven techniques to identify and prioritize risks, investigate suspicious activities, patterns, and trends related to payments fraud.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts and report findings to senior leadership.
- Stay informed about emerging fraud risks and proactively recommend enhancements to fraud prevention strategies and systems.
We’re looking for the following experience for this role: (Note, the items in bold are must-haves to be considered for this opportunity)
- Experience payments fraud risk management, fraud detection, or a related field within the financial services industry
- Experience leading a team of payments fraud, risk and policy analysts
- In-depth knowledge of payments systems, payment processing methods, and associated fraud and credit risks
- An understanding of funds and payout policies for CC/ACH fraud, limits, fraud prevention techniques, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies, policies, and procedures, and making associated buy vs. build decisions for risk framework tooling
- Proficiency in using fraud detection tools, data analytics, and reporting systems with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns, anomalies, and trends.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive effective risk mitigation initiatives, including hiring, performance management, and building a psychologically safe team environment
- The ability to communicate to all levels with the ability to present complex concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and attention to detail with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Cash compensation range: 170800-273300 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
