Housecall Pro is a fintech company founded in 2013. We built a SaaS platform that helps Home Service Professionals operate their businesses. We created the application for plumbers, electricians, and other Pros in the home improvement/trades industries.

Housecall Pro is a simple, cloud-based field service management software platform aimed at helping companies keep track of jobs, monitor technician activity, and produce invoices easily.

As a Staff Android Engineer I, you work on advanced projects for our flagship Android application. You are responsible for developing and refining new features targeting various Android mobile devices. The primary focus is to collaborate with the product management team, conceive innovative features, and enhance the application to deliver exceptional experiences and value to our customers. You operate in an iterative, data-driven environment, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of high-quality products. Your customer-centric approach is vital for the success of our customers and organization.

In your daily routine, you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy features for Housecall Pro's core Android applications
• Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Collaborate with the product management team to refine initial concepts and develop features that delight customers
• Execute a high-velocity of smart, highly performant A/B tests to improve business metrics
• Stay updated on new Growth and Personalization tools
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
• Develop and maintain code quality standards and ensure adherence within the team
• Continually introduce architectural improvements and refactorings to the codebase
• Write automated tests at the appropriate architectural level

We think that this offer is for you if you have:

• ✅ 6+ years of industry experience in developing commercial Android applications
• ✅ BS, MS, or Ph.D. in a computer science program, related field, or equivalent work experience
• ✅ Advanced knowledge of Java and Kotlin
• ✅ Proficiency in Android frameworks and libraries
• ✅ Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services cross-functional teams and mentor junior members effectively.
• ✅ Fluency in English/ Portuguese
