About Us
Hippocratic AI is the leading generative AI company in healthcare. We have the only system that can have safe, autonomous, clinical conversations with patients. We have trained our own LLMs as part of our Polaris constellation, resulting in a system with over 99.9% accuracy.
Why Join Our Team
Reinvent healthcare with AI that puts safety first. We’re building the world’s first healthcare-only, safety-focused LLM — a breakthrough platform designed to transform patient outcomes at a global scale. This is category creation.
Work with the people shaping the future. Hippocratic AI was co-founded by CEO Munjal Shah and a team of physicians, hospital leaders, AI pioneers, and researchers from institutions like El Camino Health, Johns Hopkins, Washington University in St. Louis, Stanford, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.
Backed by the world’s leading healthcare and AI investors. We recently raised a $126M Series C at a $3.5B valuation, led by Avenir Growth, bringing total funding to $404M with participation from CapitalG, General Catalyst, a16z, Kleiner Perkins, Premji Invest, UHS, Cincinnati Children’s, WellSpan Health, John Doerr, Rick Klausner, and others.
Build alongside the best in healthcare and AI. Join experts who’ve spent their careers improving care, advancing science, and building world-changing technologies — ensuring our platform is powerful, trusted, and truly transformative.
We believe the best ideas happen together. To support fast collaboration and a strong team culture, this role is expected to be in our Palo Alto office five days a week unless otherwise specified.
About the Role
At HippocraticAI, we believe trust, safety, and quality are the foundation of healthcare technology.
We’re looking for an experienced QA Lead Engineer who shares that belief — someone who brings technical depth, strong process discipline, and a genuine care for building reliable, human-centered systems.
In this role, you’ll lead quality assurance across multiple products and services in a fast-paced but process-driven environment, helping ensure every release we make is dependable, secure, and impactful. You’ll work closely with global engineering and product teams, bringing structure to complexity and helping us maintain the highest quality standards as we scale.
Experience with healthcare integrations or interoperability (FHIR, HL7, EHR/EMR systems) is a big plus. Familiarity with HIPAA and data privacy/security standards relevant to healthcare environments will help you thrive in this role — but passion for doing things right is just as important.
What You'll Do
Lead QA strategy, planning, and execution across multiple projects and releases.
Define and evolve testing processes that balance thoroughness with agility.
-
Drive all forms of testing, including:
Functional and regression testing
API and integration testing (especially for healthcare data flows)
Performance, scalability, and load testing
Security, privacy, and compliance validation
User acceptance and interoperability testing
Automation testing and framework maintenance
Maintain high-quality test documentation — test plans, cases, results, and traceability reports.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across time zones to ensure quality is integrated at every stage of development.
Track and report QA metrics, quality trends, and release readiness.
Mentor and guide QA engineers, fostering an environment where quality and accountability are shared values.
Remain flexible to changing priorities and comfortable working occasional late hours to align with global teams and critical launches.
What You Bring
Must Have:
10+ years of QA and testing experience, including 3–5 years leading teams or large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies in Agile and DevOps environments.
Hands-on experience with multiple testing types — functional, regression, performance, security, interoperability, and automation.
Proficiency in QA tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Postman, Selenium, JMeter, Cypress, or Playwright.
Excellent communication skills — you can clearly articulate risks, results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven success collaborating with global, distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Adaptability and composure under shifting priorities or tight deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s preferred
Nice to Have:
Experience testing healthcare applications, data systems, or integrations (HL7, FHIR, CCD, DICOM, etc.).
Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, or other healthcare data protection regulations.
Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
QA or testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
At HippocraticAI, we’re building technology with empathy — solutions that prioritize safety, privacy, and patient trust above all else. You’ll join a team that values clarity, collaboration, and accountability, working across disciplines to make healthcare systems smarter and safer.
We offer a process-oriented yet dynamic environment where your expertise will directly shape how quality is defined and delivered in healthcare AI.
