The role

  • As a working student in vision state estimation and control, you will push the current understanding of how advances in the research community can add value to real world problems.

  • You will bridge fundamental and applied research with concrete implementations for real-world problems in the defence domain

  • Be part of a highly talented, boundary-pushing visual localisation team and work with globally renowned AI experts.

  • Your work will contribute to one of the biggest european programmes

  • You will work closely with a team based in Munich, but interact with a broader team all over Europe

  • You will propose and evaluate different methodologies to improve mission-critical systems

  • You will work as part of a team to deliver high-impact products

The day-to-day

  • Research relevant papers in the areas of AI (in particular State Estimation and Filtering Techniques)

  • Conceptualise application of state of the art technologies and discuss them with the team

  • Understand advantages and disadvantages of different algorithmic approaches for our product

  • Derive requirements regarding software architectures and implement selected software designs

  • Summarise findings in clearly understandable documents

  • Contribute towards the implementation of the most promising concepts

You should apply if you

Nice to Have

  • Published a paper, ideally regarding applied State Estimation or Control at a top-tier conference or journal

  • Experience with Filtering techniques like EKF, UKF, particle filter, deep learning-based filtering

  • Experience in the military domain and problems

  • Experience with working in a fast-paced, high-scale start-up
