Who we are
Hallow is on a mission to help people pray. We’re the No. 1 prayer app in the world, with more than 1 billion prayers prayed across 150+ countries. We're building a product that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).
Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church's spirituality with world-class product and content execution. And we need a world-class team to make it happen.
We launched the app in December 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth & traction. Hallow has been downloaded more than 25 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.
We are a startup. We move quickly. We are small but we take big swings. Each person is responsible for making an impact. It is hard—but deeply meaningful—work. We'd be honored & humbled if you'd consider joining us.
Tldr: You’ll lead and scale Hallow’s fundraising support efforts across partner parishes, dioceses, and ministries by building and implementing digital-first fundraising strategies, as well as partnering closely with both our product and parish teams to plan and build out the function within Hallow. Your role will be critical in accelerating our mission through innovative giving models and strategic development, helping bring prayer and formation to more communities across the world.
What You'll Do
- Fundraising Strategy & Execution: You’ll design and execute fundraising strategies that empower parishes, dioceses, and ministries to raise funds through the Hallow platform. This includes creating scalable giving models, campaigns, and partnership frameworks to drive growth and engagement.
- Parish & Diocesan Partnership Development: You’ll work closely with the Parish team to understand community needs and craft compelling value propositions that help partners use Hallow to support their mission. You’ll be the go-to expert in helping local communities leverage digital giving to fund their initiatives.
- Product Collaboration: You’ll serve as the fundraising liaison to our product team—translating partner feedback into scalable features and ensuring our platform evolves to meet the needs of fundraisers. You’ll also shape user experiences that make it easy and inspiring to give.
- Program Launches & Pilots: You’ll help pilot new fundraising initiatives with select partners, establish playbooks, and scale this feature of our partnership. This includes experimenting with messaging, storytelling, giving flows, and user engagement in collaboration with the B2B and Product teams.
- Training & Enablement: You’ll build training content and equip our team (especially those working directly with parishes and ministries) to speak confidently about giving opportunities and platform tools.
- Insights & Reporting: You’ll develop and own key fundraising KPIs—such as giving participation, donor retention, average gift size, and ROI per initiative—and use those insights to improve and scale results.
What You'll Love
- Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Everyday we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: “I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I’ve been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found.”
- Ownership: When a company is this small, every employee is a core team member with an outsized impact. When a company is this small, every employee is a core team member with an outsized impact. This role is a great way to serve the Church and help communities grow closer to Jesus Christ through prayer.
- Growth: From day 1, you’ll be a part of the startup journey. We’re growing quickly, and we’ll need your help to build out innovative giving models for our partner parishes, dioceses, and ministries.
- Flexibility: We operate as a remote-first team with members all over the globe and are open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. for this position. We don’t care when or where you work, just that it gets done! That being said, our HQ is in Chicago and if in-person work is something you are interested in, we’d love to have you there!
- Comp: We will pay competitive market rates in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.
What We're Looking For
- Fundraising Experience: You have a proven track record in digital fundraising and development, ideally within a tech platform and/or faith-based organization. You’ve designed and scaled donor programs and know how to build relationships that lead to impact.
- Strategic Operator: You bring both creative thinking and operational rigor to fundraising. You know how to turn a good idea into a scalable system and how to manage multiple projects from ideation through execution.
- Collaborative Communicator: You thrive in cross-functional settings and can translate between product teams, church partners, and internal stakeholders. You’re an excellent communicator—clear, thoughtful, and mission-driven.
- Digital & Data Fluency: You’re comfortable with fundraising / digital giving platforms, and can analyze results to guide decisions. Experience with donor lifecycle management, campaign optimization, and faith-based tech is a plus.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit growth—especially in a digital-first or tech-enabled context. Experience working with Catholic parishes or ministries strongly preferred.
We're a small team and we care deeply about each new hire, so sometimes it can take us a while to get through the hiring process for these roles. Apologies in advance for any delays. We'll do our best to keep you updated throughout the process, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through everything.
We are honored that you'd consider joining the team and look forward to connecting with you.
Best,
Alex at Hallow
