- Statutory Ledgers and Local Books
- Own and manage statutory ledgers and local books for international subsidiaries, with the deepest focus on India.
- Ensure books of account are maintained in accordance with applicable local GAAP and statutory requirements while aligning appropriately with group reporting needs.
- Oversee book-specific entries, local GAAP adjustments, and reconciliations between primary and secondary/statutory ledgers.
- Partner with Finance Systems to improve NetSuite multibook design, reporting, and control frameworks for statutory accounting.
- Statutory Audits and Financial Reporting
- Lead annual statutory audits across international entities, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Prepare and review audit-ready schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and statutory financial statements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and advisors to resolve accounting, disclosure, and compliance issues arising during audits.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
- Monitor and manage statutory compliance calendars across international entities, including filings, financial statements, and other local reporting obligations.
- Partner closely with the Tax team on direct and indirect tax compliance, transfer pricing support, tax audits, and local regulatory matters.
- Ensure timely completion of all foreign subsidiaries compliance requirements including statutory books, audit support, and coordination for tax and transfer pricing deliverables.
- Track evolving local accounting and compliance requirements and translate them into actionable process updates.
- Entity Controllership
- Ensure adequate funding for the entities by developing the strategies for receiving the funds for operation and capex spends
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analyses, and intercompany balances for international entities.
- Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and supported by robust documentation and internal controls.
- Support local-to-US GAAP bridge considerations and ensure clean handoff into consolidation.
- Controls, Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Partnership
- Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness for international accounting processes, including preparation for controls-based audits in India.
- Document SOPs, reconciliation standards, review controls, and close checklists for statutory accounting activities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Tax, Legal, Payroll, Accounting Operations, and external consultants on compliance-heavy and execution-heavy workstreams.
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and scale international accounting operations as new entities are added.
- Chartered Accountant required; additional accounting or finance qualifications are a plus.
- 6–9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, statutory reporting, audit, and compliance, preferably in multinational or high-growth environments.
- Strong hands-on experience managing statutory ledgers, statutory audits, and compliance for Foreign subsidiaries
- Experience supporting multiple international subsidiaries and working across local GAAP and group reporting requirements.
- Proven track record of managing external auditors, compliance calendars, and complex reconciliations with minimal supervision.
- Experience with controls-based audits / IFC readiness is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of International statutory accounting (IFRS, US GAAP), financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of accounting for international entities and practical understanding of local GAAP vs US GAAP reporting considerations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite; multibook or statutory ledger experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large reconciliations, audit schedules, and reporting packs.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to independently drive deadlines across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent project management, prioritization, and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with auditors, advisors, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Detail-oriented, controls-focused, and able to balance technical quality with execution speed.
- This role is hybrid (4 days a week in our Bangalore office)
