About the role

Glean is building a world-class Data Organization composed of data science, applied science, data engineering and business intelligence groups. Our business intelligence group will be based in our Bangalore, India office. We are hiring our first full stack business intelligence lead with analyst and developer skills. In this role, you will:

  • Start as a fully hands-on individual contributor, and transform into a mostly hands-on tech lead management role as you build Glean’s business intelligence function..
  • Build dashboards to meet the most recurring needs of Marketing, Sales and Finance partners, iterate on them based on XFN feedback and maintain them.
  • Your long term mandate is to educate Marketing, Sales and Finance Operations specialists into citizen analysts.
  • Provide one-off data-oriented analyses on high priority & urgent questions to help make Glean’s GTM/Finance operations more effective, e.g. prepare analyses to create marketing material with quantitative insights, help a pilot convert into a deal, help a deal turn into an upsell, and provide quantitative inputs to a financial model.
  • Manage a large volume of inbound analytics requests ensuring high-quality service and appropriate SLAs
  • Help develop and implement KPIs for sales, marketing and finance teams
  • Partner with Data Engineering to improve the reliability, scalability and usability of our business intelligence & visualization tools like Metabase for data, product, engineering and operations teams

You will thrive at this role if:

  • You have a Bachelors/Masters degree in a quantitative field, e.g. business, economics, data science.
  • You have 8+ yrs of work experience in business intelligence as a bachelor degree holder. This requirement is 7+ for masters degree holders
  • You have 1+ year of tech lead management experience and have mentored several analysts before
  • You are so proficient in SQL that you’re able to up-level other SQL users around you.
  • You are very good at building dashboards and communicating insights via data visualizations leveraging tools like Metabase
  • You are very familiar with Salesforce and the particulars of its data model.
  • You are concise and precise in written and verbal communication appropriate to the technical background of your audience
  • You are able to work with short timelines with as few back and forth as possible across large time zone differences.
  • You have a strong track record of project-managing a large and growing inbound of analytics requests.
