An Overview of This Role
As a vital member of our Developer Relations team, the Senior Developer Relations Program Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing our engagement with both the GitLab community and the broader tech community. This role involves orchestrating dynamic community programs that bolster our mission of empowering users to fully leverage GitLab, contribute to open source projects, and share their expertise in GitLab and other leading-edge technologies.
What you’ll do
- Community Engagement and Advocacy: Spearhead initiatives to actively engage with the GitLab community across various platforms such as Hacker News, Stack Overflow, and the GitLab Forum. This includes promptly addressing inquiries about GitLab, fostering discussions, and maintaining a vibrant online presence.
- Program Development and Execution: Design and implement innovative programs that encourage community involvement in using GitLab, contributing to open-source, and disseminating knowledge about GitLab and related technologies.
- Collaboration and Insight: Provide valuable insights and recommendations to the marketing and product teams regarding the community's perspective and the potential impact of product and business changes.
- Strategy Development: Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at nurturing developer affinity for GitLab and enhancing our footprint in the open source ecosystem.
What you’ll bring
- Analytical and data driven in your approach to building and nurturing communities.
- Passion for community engagement and a strong understanding of the tech and open source communities.
- Proven experience in program management, preferably within a developer relations or community engagement context.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively across different teams.
- A deep understanding of GitLab, its uses, and its role in the broader technology landscape.
