About the Role

We’re looking for a for a Senior Manager, Quality Engineering to join the engineering leadership team. As a Senior Manager - Quality Engineering, you will lead a team of talented, dynamic and passionate SDETs (Software Development Engineer in Test) in our Core Quality Engineering team that focuses on designing, enhancing and maintaining the Fivetran test automation and benchmarking frameworks.You will work with product managers, engineering managers, support engineers, developers and resiliency engineering team to deliver high quality products.

The team’s overall goal will be to build the tools and technology for the engineering group that accelerate the delivery of new features in an agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expect from Fivetran products.


This is a full-time position based out of our Bangalore Office.

As an Manager, Quality Engineering at Fivetran, you will:

  • Build, lead and coach a team of highly performant SDETs.
  • Steer the vision, strategy, technical roadmap for the Quality Engineering team that aligns with the broader development and product team’s goals.
  • Be a catalyst to promote ‘Quality First’ mindset throughout the cross-functional organization
  • Develop deep expertise in product and provide functional and technical direction to automation team members
  • You will help prioritize work for your team, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality software
  • You will diagnose and resolve obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software
  • Contribute to process improvement and establishing best practices for testing
  • You will regularly communicate with senior management on status, risks and change control.

What you bring to the table:

  • 12+ years of work experience with proven track record as an IC delivering high quality software, with management experience
  • Experience building the roadmap that focuses on delivering tools to the engineering team which will enable the teams to ship high quality products.
  • Experience leading and growing a quality focussed team
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability, and optimize to attain the business goals.
  • Excellent knowledge of Quality Engineering within Software Engineering Discipline, including hands-on knowledge of testing techniques, automation framework development, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated multi-year experience in developing automation frameworks using Java. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or BuildKite
  • Aptitude in decision making and problem-solving

Optional Bonus Skills

  • Java programming experience
  • Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based platforms
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
