Introduction of Legal Department:

The successful candidate will become part of a young, rapidly growing, and dynamic legal team that takes care of all legal matters related to Finom. From shareholder matters, to commercial legal matters, to regulatory compliance, employment laws, financial transactions, legal setup of our own financial products, dispute management to corporate housekeeping: this group of currently five lawyers does it all. The candidate joining this hard-working and well-rounded team will be exposed to a high-paced environment where the right problem solving mindset and attitude to get things done is an absolute must.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a small team of lawyers dedicated to our licensed entity Finom Payments
  • Lead legal matters in relation to customer support and account irregularities (seizures, bankruptcies, other issues)
  • Guide our several branches in Europe with all legal and financial regulatory issues.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions, and interact with regulators.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, corporate documents, and corporate policies
  • Advising on product development.
  • Assist internal stakeholders from time to time on a wide range of legal issues (e.g. corporate legal matters, commercial legal matters).

Who you are

  • Multilingual proficiency in either French or German, and ideally both.
  • Working experience in both fintech and law firms, with a minimum requirement of law firm experience.
  • Experience handling disputes within the financial regulatory space.
  • Capable of providing strategic legal advice and counsel.
  • Demonstrated interest in the fintech sector
  • Possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Committed to upholding the highest ethical standards while delivering pragmatic legal solutions to support business objectives.
