About the Role
We are looking for a versatile and proactive Senior Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting data extraction and transformation needs across the organization, working closely with multiple departments. This is a high-impact position where your expertise will directly contribute to data integrity and efficiency, driving informed decision-making throughout Fabric Health.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be the core resource for our data infrastructure and pipeline needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Data Pipeline Management: Understand, extract, validate, correct, and define data from multiple internal and external sources to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
- Engineering Collaboration: Partner with the engineering team to prioritize and define requirements for future development, ensuring robust testing and validation of new data elements.
- Process Optimization: Develop and refine sustainable processes and tooling that significantly improve data efficiency and quality across the organization.
- SQL Development: Utilize SQL expertise to create complex queries and extract data efficiently from enterprise data warehouses and core operating systems.
- Problem Solving: Accurately identify, document, and recommend clear technical solutions to complex business problems.
Why You Might Be a Good Fit
- You are motivated by the challenge of transforming raw data into actionable insights that solve real business problems.
- You possess an excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively, acting as a translator between technical data requirements and non-technical business stakeholders.
- You are a detail-oriented problem-solver who enjoys developing sustainable, efficient processes from the ground up.
- You have a foundational understanding of the healthcare data ecosystem and are excited to apply your skills within the industry.
- You are comfortable collaborating across multiple departments, prioritizing and defining data needs for others.
This Might Not Be The Right Fit If...
- You prefer working in a silo rather than actively collaborating with multiple departments throughout the organization.
- You lack experience extracting data from both enterprise data warehouses and core operating systems.
- You are not comfortable with the dual responsibility of technical extraction and defining business solutions.
- You do not have a foundational working knowledge of core data tools and SQL.
Your Qualifications
- Experience with SQL and the ability to create complex queries to extract data.
- Experience extracting data from an enterprise data warehouse and core operating systems.
- Experience with DBT and Fivetran (or a similar data extract and load tool).
- Experience working with healthcare data.
- Experience working with MongoDB and/or Redshift.
- The ability to accurately identify, document, and recommend solutions to business problems.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Python (pandas, scipy, sci-kit learn).
The national pay range for this role is $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as the candidate's geographic market, experience, skills, and qualifications. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation, including a comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, vision, unlimited PTO, and a 401(k) plan, stock options and bonuses. If your compensation requirement is greater than our posted range, please still consider applying; a determination can be made based on unique qualifications. Expected compensation ranges for this role may change over time.
