The Opportunity

We're looking for a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to join our lean, impactful Finance team. This is a critical role where you'll ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, directly enabling our rapid growth and mission to expand access to high-quality care. You'll report to the Controller, focusing on core accounting functions like accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly closes, and reconciliations, while also contributing to vital financial reporting and analysis. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and contribute to a company that's moving quickly for good reason, this is your opportunity.

What You'll Do

As an Accountant at Fabric Health, you will be instrumental in maintaining the financial health that powers our impactful work. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the preparation and issuance of customer invoices and statements, and diligently applying customer payments within our accounting software.
  • Overseeing the creation and maintenance of accurate customer and vendor records within the accounting system.
  • Processing vendor bills for approval, meticulously tracking payment statuses, and ensuring timely and accurate disbursements to our partners.
  • Preparing and analyzing various financial reports, such as accounts receivable and accounts payable aging schedules, providing valuable insights to the Controller.
  • Performing detailed monthly bank and other account reconciliations, diligently investigating and resolving any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Proactively identifying areas for process improvement within your assigned responsibilities and contributing to the development and enhancement of organized and efficient record-keeping procedures within the Accounting team.
  • Actively participating in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles, ensuring adherence to deadlines and the accuracy of financial statements.
  • Preparing and posting accurate adjusting journal entries in the accounting software in accordance with GAAP, and assisting with monthly sales tax returns.
  • Collaborating effectively with other team members, providing support and sharing knowledge to achieve collective objectives and embody our value of "seeking the talent around you.

Why You Might Be a Good Fit

  • You live by accuracy and detail: You have a demonstrated commitment to meticulous work and ensuring financial integrity, embodying our value of precise execution.
  • You thrive in dynamic environments: You excel at managing multiple tasks and deadlines, adapting quickly to evolving priorities, and maintaining a clear focus, aligning with our "Move quickly for good reason" value.
  • You're a proactive problem-solver: You approach challenges with a positive mindset, ready to define and propose solutions, rather than just identifying issues.
  • You're a collaborative team player: You enjoy working closely with others, are an excellent listener, and believe in mutual support, reflecting our "Seek the talent around you" and "Be bold. Be vulnerable" values.
  • You're deeply mission-driven: Improving healthcare outcomes and patient access through technology genuinely motivates you, resonating with Fabric Health's core purpose.
  • You operate with high judgment: You possess and demonstrate sound business judgment and objectivity in all financial matters, maintaining a high level of ethical conduct.

This Might Not Be The Right Fit If...

  • You prefer a highly structured environment where processes are always pre-defined, rather than contributing to their creation and evolution.
  • You are not comfortable with ambiguity or the need to take initiative independently to solve problems.
  • You prefer working in isolation rather than actively collaborating within a team and seeking out diverse perspectives.
  • You are not passionate about the intersection of technology and healthcare, or the idea of supporting a rapidly growing company that directly impacts patient and provider experiences.
  • You struggle with managing multiple assignments simultaneously or adapting to changing priorities.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1-2 years of progressive work experience in an accounting role, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles.
