The Elevator Pitch Do you thrive in examining, testing, and repairing products? Do you enjoy documenting test procedures and reporting results and findings?Evolv is looking for a Return Manufacturing Authorization (RMA) Technician to come in and examine, test, and repair returned products. You will document test procedures and report results to the Research and Development department and part manufacturers. You will help to process and detail all returned material to Evolv Technology so that we can review issues to improve the design and improve system reliability and quality.Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?In the first 30 days, you will: Learn our process of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Material Review Board (MRB) Begin to fill out reports on all our returned material Start compiling the data to create actionable tasks for the Research and Development or manufacturing team to improve system reliability Within 3 months, you will: Become an expert on the RMA/MRB process Offer input into the way we can improve the process or reporting Start to become more familiar with the failure modes and will add input into debugging By the end of the first year, you will: Lead meetings and discussions around RMA results Work with quality and reliability engineers to follow up on actions to improve the product Make sure we are completing backlog items within a set time upon arrival, publishing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the program to management The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Read schematics or manufacturing prints and work orders for circuit boards Understand and follow any manufacturing processes specified in the documentation Verify quality of own work throughout the entire assembly process Operate pneumatic tools, such as but not limited to drills and heat guns, to assist in repair operations Repair wiring and equipment as per code and specification Document and report test results for future failure analysis by Research and Development Use ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to log and track test results Follow instructions and policies relative to quality and quantity work standards Communicate with Research and Development department and parts manufacturers to ensure proper repairs or the need for product modification Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves and workstations neat; and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Observe safety procedures and report any safety issues Be able to complete issues within 14 days of arrival Debug at the board level for most issues without major engineering oversight Report KPIs in our monthly quality reviews to help drive change for the product What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team? You will be joining the Manufacturing Operations team. This role reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager.
