Sports Business Development Manager

Evolv’s Sports vertical is looking for an experienced Sports Business Development Manager to come in and complement the activity and strategy of the current team and processes. This role will be a vital asset to the sports vertical and become part of the transformation as we continue to grow and expand our footprint and market share. In this role you will be interacting with customers and clients and working with some of the professional sports and entertainment leagues. You will liaison with other areas of the business, like Marketing and Public Relations, to help develop the strategy of what other ticketed venues look like. Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? In the first 30 days, you will: Learn the current infrastructure of Evolv and our success stories, while diving into our biggest challenges to determine where change can be made. Begin to work on small projects to get acclimated, while becoming ingrained into normal everyday processes. Attend 2 pilots/deployments Complete all 30-day onboarding activities Within 3 months, you will: Have a clear understanding of our mission, technology and GTM strategy for our vertical Have spoken to 4 current sports customers through their CSM (Customer Success Manager) to get a first-hand perspective of why they bought, key drivers and what differentiates Evolv Organize and categorize all sports proposals and marketing assets Have a good grasp on all sports accounts and opportunities in Salesforce By the end of the first year, you will: Have built relationships across the entire customer facing team Have built relationships within the professional leagues and venue management companies Have improved the data integrity for all sports and entertainment opportunities in SFDC Established an efficient way to track how sports assets are impacting other areas of the business Have improved and suggested strategies for all sports related projects and tasks The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Create a strong team engagement by building relationships with all the Account Executives touching sports opportunities to understand how to best assist with each opportunity Develop a strong client acquisition to be able to connect with 50% of cold sports opportunities, while setting up next steps and paths moving forward with 10%. Work with the VP of Sports to maintain accuracy in existing reports and determine what additional reports are needed. You will Establish at least 1 new report for opportunities outside of 5 major leagues. Strengthen creative thinking skills by assisting in the creation and organization of sports proposals to help aid in the resolution of backlogs by 50%. You will complement the activity and strategy of the VP, Technical Sales and Solutions Engineers, and Account Executives. You will develop and follow proper procedures for outreach, follow-up, and relationship cultivation You will develop your creative thinking while working on activities like proposal creation Researching venues and competition Keep Salesforce up to date for the vertical and keeper of all Sports Data integrity Liaison with Marketing and Public Relations What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team? You will be joining the large Revenue Organization team with a small sports department. This role reports to the Vice President of Sports, which will make this a 2-person team!
