About the Role

We are looking for a Test Engineering Leader who has operated in a high-growth startup transitioning into a late-stage, mature technology organization. The ideal candidate is an operator who has solved real-world quality challenges in a fast-paced, experimentation-driven environment where architectures and processes are constantly evolving. This leader will be responsible for scaling test engineering capabilities, embedding quality into
the development culture, and ensuring that velocity and experimentation do not come at the cost of reliability. They should inspire both test and dev teams to be ambitious about quality while maintaining an agile and pragmatic approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the test engineering strategy to support a rapidly evolving architecture.
  • Establish scalable, automated testing frameworks that keep up with continuous releases and experimentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and platform teams to embed quality as a
    first-class concern.
  • Champion shift-left testing principles and empower engineers to own quality.

Process & Culture

  • Drive a culture of quality ownership across development teams.
  • Balance automation, exploratory testing, and manual testing where necessary, ensuring optimal coverage.
  • Introduce infrastructure and tooling to enable better test reliability, particularly in complex distributed systems.
  • Establish metrics-driven quality improvement—measuring defect rates, test stability, and release confidence.

Scaling & Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing test engineering team that partners effectively with development teams.
  • Ensure that test engineers act as force multipliers, not bottlenecks, by enabling self-service testing tools.
  • Foster collaboration between test and dev teams to ensure early detection of issues and reduced cycle times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in test engineering, with 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Strong background in test automation, CI/CD, and distributed systems testing.
  • Experience in fast-paced product-led companies where speed and quality had to coexist.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including product, dev, and SRE.
  • Our tech stack includes TypeScript, Golang, React, and AWS Kubernetes (K8s), so familiarity with testing strategies for these technologies is a plus.
