The Therapist Lead will play a pivotal role in both the clinical supervision and management of a team of therapists, while also providing direct patient care. This position involves close collaboration with the clinical leadership team to ensure effective supervision in delivering evidence-based treatments, aligning with Equip's standards of excellence. The Therapist Lead will also be responsible for maintaining high levels of work productivity that align with the organization's strategic goals. Above all, the Therapist Lead is driven by a deep commitment to delivering the highest quality of evidence-based care for eating disorders, with the ultimate aim of helping every patient achieve lasting recovery.

Direct Patient Care Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based family-based treatment, individual, and group therapy for eating disorders in a virtual clinic (i.e. telehealth) setting.
  • Assess and diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Serve as case manager, coordinating care across a multidisciplinary treatment team of physicians, dietitians, patient mentors, and family mentors, along with outside providers.
  • Utilize between-session messaging to support patients and communicate with the treatment team through Equip’s EMR in accordance with Equip’s policies and procedures.
  • Engage and collaborate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and department meetings.

Management Responsibilities

  • Provide training and supervision of family-based treatment and other evidence-based treatments to therapists.
  • Review video recordings of therapist sessions, complete fidelity assessments, and provide feedback to therapists for quality improvement.
  • Conduct audits of session notes to ensure efficient and effective documentation.
  • Provide consultation and support to therapists for risk and safety related issues.
  • Proactively identify issues that arise with the therapists and help develop solutions with the clinical leadership team.
  • Evaluate therapists’ overall job performance and provide feedback and support as needed.
  • Review and approve time off requests.
  • Review and approve requests to attend/obtain and receive reimbursement for professional development.
  • Develop and support therapist job growth plans.
  • Coordinate changes in therapist job status.

Qualifications

  • Fully licensed in Therapy, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy with Supervisor delegation from state of residence. Must maintain an active license to practice in the state(s) that their patients reside and be willing to become licensed in other states (paid by Equip).
  • 2+ years of experience treating eating disorders.
  • Direct experience providing clinical supervision and/or serving as a people manager to therapists, and/or informal clinical leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively deliver evidence-based outpatient care in a virtual care model working on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Data driven with demonstrated experience using data to guide clinical care and hold others accountable to performance metrics.
  • Organized and results driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment including the strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people, and projects simultaneously.
Working Hours
- Monday - Friday, between 8am-8pm in the patient population time zone.
- Each work day is 8 hours + break time.
- Two late work days (starting at 10am and ending at 8pm in the respective patient population time zone).
Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
