Subtitler (US)
EIKON
Subtitler (US)
We are seeking an experienced Subtitler to join us at our state-of-the-art facility in Burbank, Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in subtitling – we’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has worked with Theatrical features, though experience with Broadcast or VOD subtitles is also of interest. The work you do here will directly impact the viewer experience, whether it be for localization subtitles or captions for the hard of hearing, so we’re looking for someone with a great eye for detail, a focus on quality and a passion for languages and media. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join an expanding in-house team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Subtitler, you will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of quality control for subtitles in multiple languages. This will include preliminary error checks, full technical QC and final post-processing. Projects usually involve numerous languages and versions, shared among the team, so there is a lot of collaboration, even while you focus on your own particular tasks. We are not looking for people to translate or provide full linguistic QC, but language skills are always valuable.
To succeed at EIKON, candidates must be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible but above all professional with a great determination to succeed. You'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines, manage pressure well and have extremely high standards of quality. It is a fast-paced industry, where clients’ needs are constantly changing, so it’s important to be adaptable and comfortable making informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
The Localization team you’ll be joining works closely with other departments at EIKON and opportunities often arise to be involved in new projects which expand the scope of our work. We’re constantly developing new workflows, so are looking for people with the desire and ability to learn new software and processes. We’d like to give you the chance to develop your skills and contribute to the continuing success of our company.
