We are seeking an experienced Subtitler to join us at our flagship facility in Soho, London. The ideal candidate will have professional experience editing and quality-checking subtitles for Broadcast, Home Entertainment, VOD and Theatrical purposes. We need you to understand the work that goes into top quality subtitles, in multiple languages and be familiar with industry-standard subtitling tools. The work you do here will directly impact the viewer experience, whether it be for localization subtitles or captions for the hard of hearing, so we’re looking for someone with a great eye for detail and a passion for languages and media. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join an expanding in-house team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Subtitler, you will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of quality control for subtitles in multiple languages. This will include preliminary error checks, full technical QC and final post-processing. Projects usually involve numerous languages and versions, shared among the team, so there is a lot of collaboration, even while you focus on your own particular tasks. To succeed at EIKON, candidates must be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible and above all professional with a great determination to succeed. They'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines, manage time and pressure well and have extremely high standards of quality. It is a fast-paced industry, where clients’ needs are constantly changing, so it’s important to be adaptable and comfortable making informed decisions in ambiguous situations. They should be confident to take on complex projects and seek solutions to unexpected complications.

The Localization team you’ll be joining works closely with other departments at EIKON and opportunities often arise to be involved in new projects which expand the scope of our work.
