Position
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Lab Support Technician 2 to join our high-impact team. As a Lab Support Technician 2, you will play a crucial role in facilitating laboratory operations and providing essential support to scientists conducting cutting-edge research. Your expertise and contributions will directly impact the progress of our high-impact biotech endeavors.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role should possess proven experience in a laboratory setting, with hands-on expertise in lab equipment, techniques, and procedures. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks are essential. Excellent communication skills to facilitate clear and collaborative interactions with team members and scientists are crucial. The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures and proficiency in using computer software for data entry, analysis, and documentation. Dedication to upholding a clean, safe, and productive lab environment is paramount for success in this role.

What You’ll Do

  • General Lab upkeep, including:
    • Conducting daily walkthroughs of labs, collaborate with team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment.
    • Ensuring proper disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.
    • Ensuring that designated areas are stocked with the proper solvents and consumables, putting away incoming consumables, and updating stock sheet actively.
    • Conducting decontaminations/sterilization of equipment.
  • Working with vendors for instrument maintenance and repairs, ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Assisting in lab equipment set up.
  • Assisting in chemical inventory/organization.
  • Preparing buffers and solvents used on automated systems.
  • Monitoring and enforcing adherence to safety protocols, maintaining a safe and compliant lab environment.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior lab support staff, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, or related).
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, including hands-on expertise with lab equipment, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling clear and collaborative interactions with team members and scientists.
  • Comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Proficiency in core Microsoft Office applications, as well as maintaining large data sets through Excel.
  • Dedication to upholding a clean, safe, and productive lab environment.

The expected salary range for this role is $61,000 to $66,500 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
