What sets Eightfold apart is not just the technology & our mission, but the team behind it. We are a deeply technical, execution-driven organization that values ownership, collaboration, and high standards. Our engineers, product leaders, and go-to-market teams work closely together — in person and across functions — to build systems that scale in the real world. If you’re excited to work on hard problems, move with urgency, raise the bar every day, and help build agentic systems that transform how the world works, Eightfold is the place to do it.
About the Role
This role owns the technical systems behind Eightfold’s website and web platform.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Web Platform, you’ll own the architecture, reliability, integrations, performance, and scalability of eightfold.ai. You’ll maintain and improve the current WordPress/AWS environment while helping build a parallel modern stack that can support the next phase of the website.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll build reusable components, templates, workflows, and integrations; support high-priority launches; improve tracking and performance; and partner across Marketing, Engineering, RevOps, Analytics, Product, and external vendors.
You’ll need strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to move quickly without creating unnecessary risk.
What you'll do:
Own and improve the current web platform
Maintain the current environment: Support and improve the existing WordPress/AWS website, including CMS workflows, templates, plugins, forms, redirects, performance, security, QA, and uptime.
Improve reliability: Reduce production issues, strengthen release processes, improve QA, and make the current environment easier to maintain.
Support business continuity: Keep the site stable while Marketing continues to launch pages, campaigns, product updates, and conversion experiences.
Identify technical debt: Audit the current platform, document risks, and recommend improvements based on impact, effort, and business priority.
Build a parallel modern stack
Define future-state architecture: Help design and build a parallel modern web stack using React, Next.js, headless CMS, API-driven integrations, reusable component systems, and modern hosting patterns.
Build for scale: Create systems that support faster launches, cleaner workflows, better performance, and more flexible content production.
Develop reusable assets: Build components, templates, modules, technical patterns, and workflows that reduce one-off development work.
Plan migration paths: Help determine what should remain in the current stack, what should move to the new stack, and how to reduce risk during transition.
Lead hands-on platform execution
Own technical projects: Lead strategic technical projects from requirements and planning through build, QA, launch, and iteration.
Support production needs: Support the web production team with overflow, urgent fixes, complex builds, launch support, and senior-level troubleshooting.
Manage launch readiness: Own redirects, forms, tracking, accessibility checks, release QA, performance checks, and technical validation for major launches.
Flag risks early: Identify dependencies, technical gaps, and launch risks before they become blockers. Communicate impact and recommended options clearly.
Own integration, tracking, and data flow
Manage marketing integrations: Lead integrations across Marketo, Salesforce, GA4, Google Tag Manager, forms, demo workflows, and third-party tools.
Improve attribution confidence: Validate form fills, demo submissions, campaign parameters, routing, conversion events, UTMs, and attribution signals.
Troubleshoot technical issues: Diagnose issues across CMS, hosting, APIs, scripts, forms, analytics, marketing automation, and third-party systems.
Improve data reliability: Help create a more reliable technical foundation for website performance, conversion, and pipeline reporting.
Use AI effectively in engineering workflows
Use AI to accelerate work: Apply AI tools to support development, debugging, documentation, QA, technical research, and workflow automation.
Use judgment with AI: Know when AI can improve speed and when code quality, security, architecture, or human validation requires senior review.
Automate repeatable work: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort across QA, documentation, testing, reporting, and production workflows.
Improve autonomy: Use AI and modern tooling to explore options, validate approaches, and move work forward with fewer dependencies.
Partner across teams and vendors
Work cross-functionally: Partner with Marketing, Engineering, RevOps, Analytics, Product, Legal, and external agencies to support launches and platform improvements.
Coordinate vendors: Work with external web and technical vendors while maintaining internal ownership of quality, standards, and technical direction.
Communicate clearly: Translate technical tradeoffs into practical business terms. Explain what is needed, why it matters, and what path you recommend.
Who You Are
- You have owned production web systems. You have worked on websites, web applications, or digital platforms where reliability, performance, integrations, and scale matter.
- You are comfortable with current-state and future-state work. You can improve an existing platform while helping build a better one in parallel.
- You think in systems. You understand how architecture, CMS workflows, analytics, forms, APIs, hosting, SEO, GEO, performance, and conversion paths connect.
- You are hands-on. You can define the technical approach and build the components, integrations, and workflows needed to execute it.
- You use AI as part of your workflow. You know how to use AI to move faster, troubleshoot, document decisions, test ideas, and improve autonomy without outsourcing engineering judgment.
- You communicate well across teams. You can work with technical and non-technical partners and explain tradeoffs clearly.
- You move quickly with judgment. You understand how to balance speed, quality, security, tracking, performance, and user experience.
- You flag risks early. You do not wait until launch day to raise concerns. You identify tradeoffs, explain impact, and recommend a path forward.
- You care about maintainability. You build systems that are clean, durable, documented, and easier for other people to use.
The stack you’ll command
- Current platform: WordPress on AWS, including CMS workflows, templates, plugins, forms, redirects, performance, security, QA, and uptime.
