Our mission is to establish climate-proof farms using cutting-edge growing chambers, medium-less cultivation, and advanced IoT mechanisms to enhance sustainability and revolutionize the way we grow vegetables.

Job Title : - Plant Physiologist

Role Overview: -

Eeki is seeking a Plant Physiologist whose role will involve understanding how plants grow, develop, and respond to environmental factors such as light, temperature, water, nutrients, and stress conditions. He will also examine how plants interact with their surroundings and the mechanisms that enable them to survive in various conditions.

Responsibilities: -

  • Plant Life Processes:
  1. Investigate water and nutrient transport, biochemical pathways, and hormonal regulation in plants.
  2. Analyze interactions between plants and microorganisms, including symbiotic and pathogenic relationships.
  • Environmental Effects on Plant Growth:
  1. Conduct field and laboratory experiments to assess the impact of temperature, humidity, and light on plant health and yield.
  2. Study physiological adaptations to abiotic stresses like drought, salinity, and high temperatures.
  • Nutrient Deficiencies & Stress Management:
  1. Identify symptoms of nutrient deficiencies, abiotic stress, and biotic stress.
  2. Implement corrective measures to optimize plant health and productivity.
  • Root Physiology & Development:
  1. Study root structure, function, and nutrient uptake mechanisms.
  2. Investigate root exudates and their impact on microbial interactions.
  3. Analyze root architecture responses to environmental stresses such as drought and salinity.
  • Growth Stimulants & Seed Treatments:
  1. Assess the effects of foliar sprays, pre-soak seed treatments, biofertilizers, and protective agents on plant germination and vigor.
  • Post-Harvest Management:
  1. Research the effects of environmental conditions on fruit and vegetable storage life, ripening processes, and shelf stability.
  • Metabolism & Physiological Adaptations:
  1. Study plant metabolism, germination physiology, root exudates, and photoperiodic responses in different plant species.
  • Mathematical & Biophysical Analysis:
  1. Utilize mathematical models and physics principles to analyze water movement, light absorption efficiency, gas exchange, and photosynthesis.
  • Research & Scientific Contributions:
  1. Compile research findings and prepare technical reports.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for scientific publications, policymaking, and agricultural extension services.
  3. Stay updated with advancements in plant physiology, biotechnology, and sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Documentation:
  1. Develop SOPs for plant growth, stress management, and agricultural best practices.
  2. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of research methodologies and findings.

Required skills and qualifications: -

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D degree in plant physiology.
  • Strong technical knowledge in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, soil science, and agronomy.
  • Hands-on experience with plant experimentation, lab techniques, and data analysis.
  • Theoretical and applied expertise in plant physiological processes.
