🚀 Why Join Us?

This is your chance to join Doccla at a key stage in our growth.

We’re building the category leader in Virtual Care and Remote Patient Monitoring. You’ll be part of a highly entrepreneurial, mission-driven team that combines expertise across clinical, technical, commercial, and operational domains.

We’re solving real problems for patients and health systems and growing fast.

🧑‍⚕️ What You’ll Do as a Engineering Manager

This is a dual-focus role. You'll own the Enrol team responsible for patient onboarding while also acting as a key support to the VP Engineering, taking real load off their plate by owning cross-team initiatives and engineering improvement work end-to-end.

The bulk of your time will be spent:

  • Leading the Enrol team owning delivery outcomes, growing engineers, and building a healthy, high-performing team that ships safe, compliant software.

  • Acting as a delegation point for the VP Engineering proactively identifying improvements, bringing concrete plans, and driving them through to completion without needing close oversight.

  • Driving cross-team initiatives coordinating dependencies, spotting risks early, and ensuring work that spans teams actually lands.

  • Helping EMs operate as a cohesive group sharing context, driving alignment, and building collaboration rather than silos across engineering.

  • Experience working in a startup or scaleup environment comfortable with ambiguity, resilient through change, and able to adapt quickly as priorities shift.

  • Staying technically engaged there is no expectation to write code, but essential to remain close enough to architecture and system design to guide decisions, spot risks, and act as a credible partner to your engineers.

  • Working with product Partnering with Product to ensure your team is solving the right problems aligning on priorities, managing scope, and ensuring the team has the context they need to make the right decisions for the business.

✅ What Experience You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading delivery teams, with a track record of shipping high-quality software predictably and sustainably.

  • Experience operating as a senior leader's delegation point owning problems end-to-end, bringing plans proactively, and driving them to completion without close oversight.

  • A strong track record of growing engineers through coaching, mentoring, and honest performance conversations.

  • Experience coordinating cross-team delivery, managing dependencies, and ensuring initiatives that span multiple teams succeed.

  • Enough technical depth to engage meaningfully in architecture discussions, challenge or support technical decisions, and spot risks early.

  • Experience working in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment (healthcare or medical device experience is a strong plus).

  • Experience driving process improvement retros, delivery metrics, ways of working and turning insight into action.

💡 What We’re Looking For

  • A leader who takes real ownership you don't wait to be asked, you identify gaps, propose solutions, and execute.

  • Someone who can operate at two altitudes: deeply invested in your team's success, while also thinking and acting across engineering.

  • The ability to be a calm, steady presence when things get difficult leading with composure and grace.

  • Happy to get stuck into anything the team needs, whether it's deep in your comfort zone or completely outside it, big or small, glamorous or not.

  • A genuine commitment to patient safety and quality, not as a checkbox exercise, but as a default in how your team works.

  • The ability to enhance productivity with AI tooling such as Claude and Copilot, and drive responsible adoption across engineering.

  • Strong communication skills you can translate complexity for technical and non-technical audiences, manage expectations, and build trust through transparency.

  • A collaborative mindset you default to openness and partnership, building strong relationships with other EMs, Staff engineers, Product, and the wider business.
