Principal Product Designer
Devoted Health
Job Description
A bit about this role:
We are seeking a Principal Product Designer to join our small and highly leveraged Product Design team. This role will own the interaction design of our Member Portal across desktop, mobile web, iPhone, and Android platforms.
This is not a specialist role; we need a versatile design expert who can independently navigate the full spectrum of UX work, from foundational research to detailed implementation, with an emphasis on speed, pragmatism, and collaboration.
This role will create digital experiences that will make our members feel known and cared for within the constraints of our highly-regulated and complex business - leaning in with AI and LLM interactions and conversational design
The right person leads through ambiguity - partnering closely with our Member Experience team to define and implement a Digital Service Experience that equals or surpasses our other member touchpoints.
Responsibilities and Impact will include:
Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity, aligning stakeholders to a shared vision through your design work - collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to define implementable solutions that meet user, business, and regulatory needs with a keen attention to detail in a hyper-compliant healthcare environment
Independently identify design opportunities that will drive business results and member satisfaction - with an eye for AI-first and conversation-forward interactions
Design with human behavior and psychology in mind, making simple things feel simple and complex things feel possible, with an emphasis on solid multi-device interaction design and usability testing
Create design deliverables using Figma, LucidChart, Adobe Suite and other tools—including sitemaps, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes
Know when existing design patterns achieve quick wins, and when new, reusable patterns are needed. Design for the long-haul, creating patterns that can be used again and again
This position is remote with east coast hours and requires travel 2-3 times per year.
Required skills and experience:
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and convince leaders to adopt new directions
History of successful collaboration with designers, product managers, business stakeholders, engineers, and QA
7+ years of digital product design experience - Expert proficiency in at least one area of product design (UI, IA, research, etc.) with solid capabilities across all areas
Strong online portfolio demonstrating sophisticated, multi-platform projects and a versatile skillset
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
Desired skills and experience:
Healthcare industry experience or similar highly regulated environments
Familiarity with accessibility standards and implementation (508, WCAG, etc)
