Job Description
A bit about this role:
As a key member of the finance team our Payroll Administrator is responsible for numerous key aspects of the payroll functions of the organization. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy and has experience with Workday payroll processing and ADP SmartCompliance. You will need to roll up your sleeves and have the mentality and desire to learn and take on more responsibility as you grow with Devoted. We’re looking for a team player, strong communication and great customer service to work with our finance leaders and our employees.
Your Responsibilities and Impact will include:
Process all bi-weekly payroll information by analyzing and comparing data within Workday and the submission file and processing within determined deadlines.
Serve as our point person for all employee payroll related questions. You will serve as the face of the payroll department so strong customer service and a willingness to help is a must.
Ensure all weekly timesheets have no exceptions and are approved by the supervisor.
Responsible for analyzing and comparing new hire and termination information in Workday and the HR submission file prior to processing payroll.
Ensure all changes on the HR Submission file are showing accurately changed in Workday.
Update, prepare and save payroll reports for annual financial audit.
Assist employees with payroll related inquiries.
Responsible for managing our weekly new hire payroll orientation.
Assist in the reconciliation and recording of salary and benefit expenses.
Manage and confirm all payroll filings with various states are accurate and complete.
Responsible for ensuring the setup of new State registrations.
Ensure all bi-weekly payroll information is entered into the payroll system and electronically transmitted by determined deadlines.
Manage and maintain integrity of the data within the payroll system.
Oversee all garnishments and follow up with the issuing authority when necessary.
Work closely with our People team on payroll, reporting and employee needs.
Responsible for downloading, saving and analyzing payroll invoices and statements.
Process and settle all off-cycle on-demand payments.
Train and develop offshore resources on payroll processing activities to provide support and back-up.
Assume additional responsibility as requested.
Required skills and experience:
Multi-Jurisdiction Bi-weekly Payroll processing experience with Workday systems.
3+ years of experience in numerous key aspects of the payroll function
Experience working with ADP SmartCompliance Tax Services for Tax filing/Amendment filing and Wage garnishment.
Knowledge of US tax law relative to Federal, State and Local withholding taxes.
Strong Payroll/Payroll Taxes skills and detail oriented.
Demonstrated error-free work.
Manual Payroll adjustments ( Wages and Taxes ) processing experience.
You are a team player.
Great customer service skills.
Critical thinking skills along with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
Desired skills and experience:
Proactively identify tax problems and correct as necessary.
Ability to research tax law.
Detail oriented - looking for the needle in the haystack is your favorite thing.
Well Versed in spreadsheets and databases.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong organizational skills.
Committed to employee support, you ask a lot of questions.

Salary range: $54,150 - $90,000 annually
Our ranges are purposefully broad to allow for growth within the role over time. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
