Job Description

A bit about the Risk Adjustment Department:

At Devoted, we see risk adjustment as taking care of members like family by funding better care & better benefits through the complete and accurate documentation of members’ true conditions.

Our Risk Adjustment Department involves close partnership between five functional areas including:

  • Coding Quality (QA and Coding Guidelines)

  • Retrospective Coding Program (Internal and Vendors)

  • Data Submissions

  • Prospective Program

  • Program Integrity (Audit)

The Risk Adjustment Coding Quality Senior Associate role is a new addition to Devoted’s Risk Adjustment Department and reflects an expanded investment in Quality Assurance and Coding oversight to ensure we operate as a paragon of hyper compliance as we rapidly grow and drive improved outcomes for our members.

This role reports to the Director of Coding Quality and will be responsible for driving operational rigor across the Coding Quality vertical, which monitors and continually improves the quality of Devoted coding practices. This role will support project-based work and long term operational processes with a primary focus on building and maintaining processes that are consistent, repeatable, well-documented, and hyper-compliant.

Your Responsibilities and Impact will include:

  • Developing true subject matter expertise in risk adjustment while understanding and adhering to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements

  • Provide project coordination for the Quality vertical and Coding Steering Committee; ensure relevant stakeholders understand and meet desired schedule and deliverables

  • Develop, implement and continually improve processes for monitoring QA workflows; support technology improvements in department processes by testing technology improvements, providing feedback, and making suggestions.

  • Working cross functionally and facilitating collaboration with stakeholders within the Risk Adjustment Department and across the organization; facilitate conversations and decision-making to identify and execute on opportunities that improve current coding policies and procedures

  • Drive operational monitoring and improvements for onshore and offshore QA teams

  • Facilitate education, business planning, and project meetings;

  • Prepare reporting or assist in the preparation of documents as required by the department while handling data in accordance with data privacy and protection requirements.

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 plus years of project coordination and operations experience

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working in various products/tools and with lots of data - proficient with Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, etc.), Slack, and web-based meeting applications (e.g., Zoom).

  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented. You value quality and accuracy.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience with Medicare Advantage, risk adjustment, healthcare regulations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up culture with a bias toward action

  • Healthcare experience a plus, particularly if you have experience with provider data

Salary Range: $57,000 - $120,000 / year
