It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing Tax team. You will be part of the global DoorDash/Wolt/Deliveroo business, working within a newly integrated "One Team" structure that brings together tax capabilities from across the globe.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Direct Tax, you will play a critical role in the "engine room" of the UK Direct Tax function. As part of the team you will ensure our compliance execution is flawless and our reporting is precise.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a matrixed environment , collaborating with colleagues in Finland, the US, and other international jurisdictions. We are looking for a hands-on Tax Manager who combines technical excellence with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage Corporate Tax Compliance: Oversee the end-to-end preparation and filing of Corporate Income Tax returns for Deliveroo entities. You will manage external advisors to ensure deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
Contribute in Tax Reporting: Drive the accurate calculation of current and deferred tax provisions (US GAAP) for group tax reporting. Additionally, you will provide critical tax data inputs to the wider team for global US SEC reporting and provision cycles.
Operational Advisory: Act as a trusted business partner to Finance, Legal, and HR. You will handle day-to-day tax queries—such as tax implications on new contracts, deductibility questions, and operational transfer pricing matters.
Audit & Controversy: Manage relationships with relevant tax authorities, drafting responses to enquiries and managing local audits to a successful conclusion.
Process & Technology: Continuously enhance tax processes and controls, identifying opportunities for efficiency and risk management, including the use of new technology and AI tools.
Planning Strategies: Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the business, recommending appropriate actions.
Risk Governance: Assist with the maintenance of the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) framework and the Group’s tax risk and controls matrix. Contribute to group tax strategy, ensuring alignment with tax principles.
Requirements
Qualifications: CTA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience: Proven experience in corporate tax (approx. 4–6 years), ideally with a background in a major accounting firm followed by in-house experience in a multinational environment.
Technical Skills: Strong expertise in UK Corporate Tax and IFRS tax accounting. Familiarity with US GAAP tax reporting and experience of using tax compliance software (e.g. one source) would be an advantage.
Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within Tax and across the broader company. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed tech environment
Stakeholder management: You have keen stakeholder management and communication skills. Previous experience managing external advisors and tax authorities is desirable
Mindset: You have strong attention to detail , a pragmatic solutions-oriented approach , and a high level of integrity.
Curiosity: You are commercially minded, proactive and enthusiastic about building a world-class international tax function and willing to iterate on processes.
