The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and driven Financial Operations Project Lead to join our high-performing Financial Operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a critical role that will spearhead key strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and control environment of our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Head Of Financial Operations, you'll be a change agent, working cross-functionally to embed best practices and drive continuous improvement across core finance processes on O2C and P2P specific areas.
Key Responsibilities
This role will focus on driving significant change and improvement in the following core areas:

Order To Cash
Review the current O2C processes and present any relevant improvements
Work closely with the relevant managers to implement any agreed change within the team
Ensure all processes are mapped and documented
Review controls and update the relevant RACMs

Purchase To Pay
Review the current O2C processes and present any relevant improvements
Work closely with the relevant managers to implement any agreed change within the team
Ensure all processes are mapped and documented

Bank Reconciliations
Review the current bank reconcilation processes and present any relevant improvements
Work closely with the relevant managers to implement any agreed change within the team
Ensure all processes are mapped and documented
Review controls and update the relevant RACMs

Upstream Controls Enhancement:
Identify, assess, and recommend improvements to upstream financial controls that impact the accuracy and completeness of financial data flowing into the general ledger and financial statements.
Work closely with operational teams to embed financial controls at the source of transactions relating to O2C and P2P
Develop and implement strategies to prevent errors and ensure data integrity earlier in the process.
Collaborate with IT teams to leverage system capabilities for enforcing upstream controls.
Support the Financial Operations Team to be SOX ready in 2026
General Project Management & Change Leadership
Act as a subject matter expert and project manager for O2C and P2P transformation initiatives from inception to successful implementation.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.
Drive stakeholder engagement and communication, fostering strong relationships with finance teams, IT, and other relevant departments.
Interact effectively with the FinTech and other technical team to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure optimal system configuration and utilisation for finance processes.
Collaborate closely with various Financial Operations teams (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury Purchasing Compliance) to understand their processes, identify pain points, and implement solutions that improve their efficiency and control environment.
Champion change management, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and systems through effective training and communication.
Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and the Head Of Financial Operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function, identifying opportunities for efficiency and control enhancements.
Skills & Experience

Professional Qualification:
APA, CICM or significant QBE
Prince2 or Agile qualified (not essential if significant QBE)

Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience across O2C, P2P and Cash Management, with a strong emphasis on finance process improvement, project management, or finance transformation.
Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex finance projects in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following areas: purchase order to payment lifecycle, complex bank reconciliations, billing clients, cash collections
Experience working in a listed company or a fast-paced technology/e-commerce environment is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills; strong practical experience with NetSuite is highly preferred, including understanding of its functional capabilities and data structures. Experience with other financial systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle, SAP, Coupa, Blackline, Sidetrade etc) is also beneficial.
RPA and AI champion
Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Proficient reporting writing and presentation skills
