The Central Grocery team ensures that Deliveroo strengthens its position as a leader in the ‘On Demand Grocery’ space.
Reporting into the Global head of Category Management, you will work within our Global Category Management and pricing team. You will be responsible for identifying and merchandising categories relevant to the season/ occasion/mission for our consumers to create a delightful shopping experience and maximise growth opportunities for our partners.
This role will be based out of the London HQ office and comes with a hybrid working week.
What you’ll be doing
Trade planning and execution:
Develop and own execution of the trade plan aligned to the key consumer missions and occasions on Deliveroo app in key markets to drive traffic, customer conversion and basket size;
Identify opportunities for increasing revenue using web analytics tools to improve key performance metrics;
Choose the set of partners, products, price points and promotions that will drive sales;
Ensure key offers and promotions are merchandised across relevant areas;
Partnering & Prioritisation:
Engage with multiple stakeholders (commercial, marketing, local markets, taxonomist etc) to execute on the trade plan most effectively and drive improvements on key inputs.
Work with product teams to shape Deliveroo’s consumer navigation and basket building roadmap;
Identify key opportunities and rigorously prioritise across multiple markets and categories;
Develop and embed the merchandising process into the commercial team’s trade plans,
Provide guidance to key strategic partners on relevant merchandising opportunities to implement on their menus;
Analytics and reporting:
Identify and leverage category business opportunities based on industry and product trends, competitive research and consumer demand;
Conduct reviews on key trade events to find drivers of the performance (i.e. availability) and optimise;
What we are looking for
Previous experience in a marketplace or big online retailer as an online merchandiser or hands on marketing specialist;
Strong Excel and SQL skills, familiar with BI software (Tableau, Looker or similar), Google Analytics;
Commercial understanding with the ability to select products, price points and promotions that will drive sales;
Problem solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions;
Rigorous attention to detail;
Positive entrepreneurial mindset and great at working collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast paced and hands on environment.
