This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hop team in the nascent stage of our growth.
As Head of Hop Category Management, Pricing and Promotions, you’ll be in charge of supporting, developing and maintaining our overall category management, promotional and pricing strategy for Deliveroo Hop. You will provide thought leadership in this space and be part of the decision-making, setting rules and benchmarks for our market teams to implement consistent category management, pricing and promotional frameworks. Alongside this you will lead your team to build the tools, tracking and measurement to allow our global Hop markets to deliver against these frameworks on an ongoing basis.
Success in this role will require development of effective working relationships across Deliveroo; particularly the link with the international markets, as well as the Data Science, Operations, Commercial and Finance teams. This role is a hybrid position based out of our London HQ reporting directly to the Director for HOP, retail.
What you'll be doing
Develop the category management, pricing and promotions frameworks and principles
Provide insightful, data-led analysis to support decision making on overall pricing strategy and price levels across all markets
Conduct competitor benchmarking analysis and extract actionable insights to improve our decision making processes
Continuously test, learn and iterate on our pricing strategy by testing new frameworks and models
Identify optimal pricing structures
Identify global and market specific customer trends and uncover areas of pricing opportunity that could drive overall growth
Expand our knowledge of the underlying drivers of price perception and value for money and identify means to improve it
Create reports reflecting metrics and project status, objectives and barriers
Requirements
At least 7 years building and managing category management, pricing and promotion capabilities ideally in FMCG, Restaurants, Grocery, Hospitality and/or Food Retail and experience working with Data Science and Product teams

Can build “stuff” - Solid track record of identifying, scoping and delivering pricing solutions
A strong analytical approach — ability to join quantitative and qualitative data, utilise A/B testing to evaluate outcomes, and weave together different approaches to mitigate revenue risks
A commercial mindset, able to work towards the overall company goals and objectives
Strong knowledge about the industry including competitors and market trends
Strong written and oral communication skills, exhibited experience in influencing stakeholders to adopt new tools and processes
Experience working in a matrix environment, developing central programs and aligning local commercial teams on delivery
