The Role
Crescendo is looking for talented folks to join our Human Resources team. As the HR Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources processes and managing the HRIS at our Cape Town Hub. This role provides administrative support to our Human Resources team, including but not limited to record-keeping, electronic and physical file maintenance, auditing, and HRIS entry.
The successful candidate should be highly organized and have great time management skills, a customer experience mentality, and the ability to roll up their sleeves when the time arrives. Supporting our associates with efficiency and promptness is critical for this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Respond to employee and candidate inquiries, addressing questions, and fulfilling
- requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Process time sheets, coordinating with payroll departments, and managing benefits
- administration (medical aid, pension, provident funds).
- Preparation of employment contracts, notices, and documents.
- Manage the mailing, scanning, and emailing of documents, and filing them accurately in
- appropriate employee records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for daily staff queries, resolving minor grievances,
- and supporting industrial relations (IR) processes.
- Prepare new-hire files, and coordinate onboarding activities, including HRIS access,
- bank enrollment, and building access.
- Support New Hire Orientation and ensure all onboarding requirements are met.
- Ensure the timely enrollment of employees in benefit programs and address any related
- inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and assisting with
- Employment Equity (EE) and Skills Development reporting.
- Disciplinary processing, compliance with labor laws, assisting with any CCMA requests,
- offboarding employees, participation in grievances resolution, etc.
- Partner with internal stakeholders on various HR projects, initiatives, and company
- events, contributing to the overall success of the HR team.
- Being able to work independently and collaboratively, always with the highest attention
- to detail.
What We Expect From You:
- Candidates must live in Cape Town. Hybrid role - expected to visit the office when needed.
- Education: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven experience in an HR administrative or generalist capacity.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency with HRIS platforms and strong Microsoft Office Suite capabilities.
- Legal Knowledge: Solid, practical understanding of South African labor legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act).
- Comfort in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can shift quickly and responsibilities are broad
- A service excellence mindset is a must
