Product Design Engineer

Gardena - Full-Time

Overview

Join the growing team at Cover who engineer well-built spaces for everyone. Leveraging systems engineering to develop well-integrated parts and their assemblies for high volume precision manufacturing, Cover’s building system enables the creation of residential structures with unparalleled design, energy performance, build precision, and construction speed.

Role

  • You’ll report directly to the VP of Engineering at Cover and work closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineers, to drive production ramp up and develop, test, and implement product design changes.
  • You will work in a hands-on role in both production, and design, with a high amount of responsibility and autonomy. You will be expected to produce results on short timelines both individually and in collaboration with others.
  • You’ll manage and collaborate with key suppliers to support production and engineering milestones.

Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or similar, Masters preferred.
  • Experience engineering prototype tooling.
  • Broad knowledge of, and experience engineering for, a variety of manufacturing processes.
  • History of continual improvement and achievement: identifying and implementing systematic changes that increase efficiency, effect change and, most importantly, improve the product.
  • Demonstrated history of producing extraordinary results in short timeframes with a high degree of autonomy.

Skills

  • Exceptional engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong grasp of material properties including structural performance, durability, and corrosion resistance.
  • Mastery of modeling in 3D CAD and experience creating FEA models for any of the following: static, quasi-static, deformable body, durability, aero and thermal systems; experience developing custom performance models preferred.
  • Expertise in GD&T and dimensional engineering fundamentals.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication.
  • Thrive in a fast paced hands-on environment where solving challenging problems both independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION

All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.

The base cash salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - $116,000 per year.

Our compensation package extends beyond salary and encompasses various elements that contribute to a comprehensive rewards system. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer equity through stock options, performance bonuses, health and fitness reimbursements, high-quality company-subsidized healthcare, generous paid time off (PTO), and complimentary weekly catered meals available on-site.

Cover’s aims to be competitive with it’s overall compensation packages relative to the market considering the company stage, industry, funding, and location. This market range includes salary, applicable bonuses, and equity – which are each important components of an offer from Cover. More details can be provided during the interview.

The actual compensation package offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including the essential functions of the role, experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level, and prior accomplishments.
