Director, Business Technology & Strategy
Corelight
Do you want to help make the world safe from cyber attack?
At Corelight, we believe that the best approach to cybersecurity risk starts with the network. Attackers can evade endpoint detection, firewalls and many other technologies - but they can’t avoid leaving digital footprints on the networks they traverse. Built on open-source innovations from Zeek, Suricata and YARA and refined through years of real-world use, Corelight transforms network footprints from physical, virtual and cloud networks into actionable insights. Our customers use these insights to speed incident response and proactively hunt for threats.
This is not a traditional IT Operations role. We are looking for a visionary builder to lead our Scalable Company Operations pillar and define how technology accelerates our business strategy.
In this high-visibility role, you will transition IT from a utility provider to a strategic partner. You will act as the bridge between our technical capability and our business goals, owning two critical "internal startups": the launch of our cross-domain Data Analytics Platform and the organizational enablement of Generative AI.
Why this role matters:
- Customer-Centric Scalability & Technical Diagnosis: Excellent ability to reorient technology operations around the internal customer experience (CX), converting recurring support issues into scalable, secure-by-default solutions. This includes a deep understanding of core enterprise infrastructure necessary for diagnosing technical bottlenecks and creating scalable velocity for the business.
- Lead the AI Revolution: You won’t just deploy tools; you will drive organizational change management, building the "AI Learning Communities" and governance structures that put us in the driver's seat of the AI future.
- Turn Data into Action: You will take a data project from its infancy and turn it into a high-impact product, using consultative diplomacy to deliver an accelerant that fuels our end customer experience.
- You are the ideal candidate if: You view internal platforms as products and colleagues as customers. You have the diplomatic skills to align diverse stakeholders, the strategic vision to move from "Good" (reactive metrics) to "Best" (strategic input), and the operational grit to execute in a complex environment.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience & Leadership:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in IT/Business Technology management.
- 3+ years managing and leading large-scale Organizational Change initiatives.
- Proven track record transitioning IT from reactive support to a strategic, IT-as-a-Product partnership model.
- Technical & Strategic Delivery:
- Direct experience architecting, delivering, and achieving adoption for enterprise-wide platforms (e.g., Data Analytics, GenAI, or large-scale automation).
- Expertise in defining and managing technology services with a "Zero-to-One" mindset and operational grit.
- Customer-Centric Scalability & Technical Diagnosis: Excellent ability to reorient technology operations around the internal customer experience (CX), converting recurring support issues into scalable, secure-by-default solutions. This includes the technical acumen necessary for diagnosing system bottlenecks and creating scalable velocity for the business.
- Analytical Pattern Matching & Value Metrics: Demonstrated ability to analyze historical operational data (e.g., 90 days of support cases) to perform strategic pattern matching, diagnose root causes (technical, process, or people-related inputs), and proactively identify high-value creation opportunities. Must be skilled in defining and tracking corresponding business outcome metrics.
Core Competencies & Strategic Skills
- Strategic Product Management:
- Deep understanding of Platform Thinking and treating internal services as products with defined roadmaps and user experience focus.
- Proficiency in Service Design and defining modern delivery models (e.g., IT-as-a-Service, microservices, Service Catalogs).
- Knowledge of the AI/GenAI Ecosystem, including managing AI SaaS offerings/Agents and defining necessary governance.
- Influence & Diplomacy:
- Exceptional Internal Stakeholder Management skills, utilizing Forensic Active Listening to gather hidden requirements.
- Ability to build Authority through influence and use Consultative Challenge to align stakeholders without creating friction.
- Possesses Executive Presence and uses Narrative Storytelling to translate complex strategy into clear business outcomes.
