Our Field Support Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and uptime of our robots. You will be responsible for mechanical repairs, proactive maintenance, and collaboration with our hardware engineering team to enhance the reliability and performance of our robotic fleet

This role is located fully onsite in Sumner, WA, with US-based travel expectations of 90-100% time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of robotic hardware components
  • Collaborate with engineering to test and implement hardware changes
  • Provide feedback on fleet performance and recommend design improvements to engineering based on field learnings
  • Maintain a change log of all maintenance and repair activities
  • Create basic maintenance procedures and training materials
  • Partner with internal build technicians to maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability for immediate repairs
  • Establish robot performance metrics and proactively address any issues to optimize uptime

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or Associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-5 years of professional work experience in a field service or technical support role, with robotics or automation systems.
  • Strong electromechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with cabling and electrical integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Knowledge of best safety practices in working with electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Must have and maintain US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with robotic programming languages (e.g., ROS, Python) and control systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation standards and practices.
  • Prior experience in a startup environment or with early-stage product support.
  • Certifications in relevant technical fields (e.g., electronics repair, industrial maintenance).
  • Safety trainings experience with electrical systems.

The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $145,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in Sumner, WA. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
