The Opportunity

Superhuman is building the AI productivity platform that works everywhere people do, and Superhuman Mail is central to how people communicate and get work done. Today, we’re the fastest email experience in the world - and one our customers truly love.

On the Superhuman Mail team, you will own our team’s outcomes for our iOS mobile roadmap alongside the Engineering Manager and Product Manager. We’re redefining what it means to manage your inbox and have an ambitious roadmap to pursue. Mobile is where Superhuman becomes a daily habit: users who use both desktop and mobile activate and send at roughly 3x the rate of desktop-only users, and mobile is emerging as one of the company’s most promising growth channels.

We’re looking for an engineer who can own product and technical strategy end-to-end; someone who will own the hard problems with us, set the bar, and up-level the team. You will help shape not just what we build, but how we build. You will help define a one-to-two-year vision for where our mobile platform should go and lead the team into an AI-native way of working, from technical foundations and tooling to how a mobile team ships faster with high quality.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and personally own the highest-complexity, highest-impact engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams.

  • Own the one-to-two-year technical vision for our mobile platform: architecture, technical foundations, and the roadmap of investments that keep us fast and reliable as we scale.

  • Partner with the PM and EM to define product strategy — where we go, why, and how — grounded in a deep understanding of the user, the goals, and the metrics that matter, and then drive execution to get there.

  • Mentor and coach senior engineers to grow in execution, judgment, and influence.

  • Drive alignment across functions, navigating ambiguity and organizational complexity to proactively land the right outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in iOS development or related roles

    • (Additional experience with full-stack development working across clients and backend systems is a plus!)

  • Expertise in Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and iOS frameworks

  • Track record of shipping high-quality, delightful mobile experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently (leading the technical direction of a project and operating effectively with limited guidance), manage priorities across multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Experience in working in 0-to-1 environments (early-stage or new-product work)

  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to mentor and support other engineers

  • Fluency with AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) and a point of view on how they change the way teams build software

  • Strong product instincts - you care about the end-user experience and can make good tradeoffs between speed and reliability

Compensation and Benefits

Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more:

  • Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits)

  • Disability and life insurance options

  • 401(k) and RRSP matching

  • Paid parental leave

  • 20 days of paid time off per year, 12 days of paid holidays per year, two floating holidays per year, and flexible sick time

  • Generous stipends (including those for caregiving, pet care, wellness, your home office, and more)

  • Annual professional development budget and opportunities

Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
