Are you excited to build customer-facing products that shape how humans manage and interact with robotic fleets? Do you thrive in environments where product thinking, technical depth, and execution are tightly coupled? If you’re passionate about building intuitive, high-impact interfaces on top of complex robotics and data systems—and want to help define how autonomous work is orchestrated at scale—we invite you to join Cobot as a Staff Software Engineer on the Product team.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You will spend a meaningful portion of your time writing production code across Vista and Scoutmap, while also helping shape technical direction, patterns, and quality standards through the systems you build. At the Senior and Staff level, we expect engineers to lead by example—designing and shipping core product capabilities, making pragmatic technical decisions, and influencing direction through execution, not just proposals or reviews.

You’ll work closely with product, design, robotics, data, and platform teams to deliver customer-facing tools that combine observability, intelligence, and orchestration. Your work will directly impact how customers understand their facilities, deploy robots, and ultimately manage work across people and machines.

Collaborative Robotics is a team of innovators and builders redefining the future of human-robot interaction. We’re building toward a world where robots are a trusted extension of their environment—adapting, coordinating, and working seamlessly alongside people.

This role is located at our Santa Clara (HQ) or Seattle office. It is also remote-friendly from the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Boston, Denver/Boulder, or Pittsburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain customer-facing product features across Vista and Scoutmap, with a strong emphasis on usability, clarity, and correctness.

  • Build hands-on across the stack, with a primary focus on frontend and product-facing systems, while collaborating closely with backend and data teams.

  • Own complex product surfaces end-to-end—from concept and prototyping through production rollout and iteration.

  • Shape technical direction through execution: establish patterns, abstractions, and best practices by building and shipping real systems.

  • Collaborate deeply with product management and design (UX/UI) to translate customer needs and workflows into intuitive, scalable interfaces.

  • Work closely with robotics, data infrastructure, and platform engineers to integrate real-time telemetry, maps, and operational insights into the product experience.

  • Support Scoutmap as needed, ensuring shared capabilities and intelligence flow naturally into Vista over time.

  • Participate in technical planning and reviews, offering thoughtful input while remaining accountable for delivery.

  • Help raise the bar for product engineering quality, performance, and reliability across the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer working on product-facing systems.

  • Strong proficiency in modern frontend development (e.g., React, TypeScript) and experience building complex, data-driven UIs.

  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality code.

  • Experience collaborating closely with product managers and designers in fast-moving environments.

  • Strong product intuition—able to reason about user workflows, tradeoffs, and edge cases.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and iterating toward the right solution.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Must have and maintain US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building software for robotics, autonomous systems, fleet management, or operational tooling.

  • Familiarity with real-time systems, telemetry, maps, or spatial data.

  • Experience working on platforms that support multi-tenant or multi-customer use cases.

  • Background in workflow orchestration, operational dashboards, or control-plane style products.

  • Experience operating at a Senior or Staff level—owning large problem spaces and influencing direction through hands-on work.

  • Interest in shaping intelligent, semi-autonomous systems that assist users in decision-making.
