We're looking for an IT Support Specialist to be the go-to technology partner for our NYC office. You'll own the day-to-day IT experience — from desk-side troubleshooting and AV support to identity management and SaaS administration — keeping the office running smoothly while freeing the IT Director to focus on strategic work. This role is ideal for someone who's hands-on, reliable, and energized by solving problems quickly and clearly.
What will you do?
-Serve as the primary onsite IT contact for the NYC office
-Provide first-line support for access requests, account issues, and basic troubleshooting
-Handle walk-ups, tickets, and ad hoc requests with professionalism and urgency
-Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot conference rooms, AV equipment, and hybrid meetings
-Resolve basic network issues (connectivity, peripherals, office hardware)
-Support onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and access provisioning
-Execute user provisioning and deprovisioning across core systems with accuracy and security
-Manage laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals across their full lifecycle
-Maintain accurate hardware inventory and coordinate repairs or replacements
-Enforce standard device and access policies defined by the IT Director
-Administer day-to-day tasks across common SaaS tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, Microsoft 365)
-Escalate complex issues appropriately while owning resolution end-to-end
-Follow documented runbooks and contribute improvements as gaps are identified
-Document recurring issues, fixes, and procedures clearly
-Maintain clean handoffs with the remote IT Director
-Identify repeat problems and suggest simple process or tooling improvements
What skills and experiences will help you?
-Solid experience in IT support, IT operations, or a similar hands-on role
-Comfort providing in-person, desk-side, and AV support in an office environment
-Working knowledge of macOS and Windows environments
-Familiarity with identity/access management and SaaS administration concepts
-Clear, direct communicator with strong organizational habits
-High reliability and attention to detail
What's nice to have?
-Experience in a small or startup IT team
-Exposure to MDM tools (Jamf, Intune, Kandji) and SSO providers (Okta, Azure AD)
-Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPNs, peripherals)
-Experience supporting executives or high-visibility users
What do we like?
-Employees feel supported, comfortable, and confident coming to you for help
-You keep the office running smoothly with minimal disruption
-Issues are resolved quickly, calmly, and with clear communication
-Documentation improves over time instead of degrading
-You free up the IT Director's time from routine support and operational interruptions
